Default Kosmik log please check

Hi all,

Got a bogging problem on my scorpion 4530 500kv le . Use the kosmik 200 and a 11t on a gaui X7 with 13* pitch. Using Gens ace 5000mah 45c 6s packs x2 bats are over 1 year old.Standard mode 4 on the kosmik with bec at 8v, and timing on auto.

Would be great if some would look at the logview print screen. Dont know how to post file it says invalid.
Bid of a noob on this stuff

Thanks!

Throttle input at 84 is a little over the recommended 80. Could we see the PWM and amps?
Battery does not seem to be stressed.

As mentioned above without PWM we really cant tell whats going on. I can tell you 84% if flown very hard can cause bogging even with some of the more powerful motors.

Yeah you are able to hit 100% pwm pretty early in the flight which is an indication that the motor needs a bit more overhead. It doesnt look that bad but there are a few seconds here and there its capped at 100% pwm.

I'd say try one size bigger pinion and drop the throttle to 80%. Battery seems to be coping ok.

I would add try adjusting the IR comp to the IR of the motor (13) and then try playing a bit with the GOV gain with throttle at 80.
Packs may be a limiting factor though even though they look "ok".

PWM is not the issue here it would seem.

Your batts strike me as the most obvious sign as look at the voltage sag when the the headspeed bogs. The motor is only drawing 150a at this point also.

Sorry for the late reply!!

This is log 58 btw.

Fixing the timing to a lower value will help also as you mentioned but I think the packs are not up to the job

Looking at 59 also supports the same.

The voltage drop is huge when the rpm drops. I really think the packs are not up to the task on this motor. Better packs, low fixed timing of something like 5 or simply a smaller motor.

Best think is better stronger packs.

"Log 59" looks OK to me the rpm control and pwm are good. 4v drops under load are quite normal, for me anyway. This log is very different to the one shown in post #5 and to me looks from a different set up.

But I agree the packs may be a problem, but not in log 59 as the rpm control is steady and not seeing the 200 rpm dips in #5

Yes log 59 is not as bad but then not flown as hard as the imot shows.

Here is another view of post #5

The rpm drops 200 when pwm maxes out , the amps inc but mostly not much more than in 59. I dont think this is a particularly hard flight from the logs, some pitch pumping and tictocs.

Mythoughts would be to set throttle to 80 and

1Adjust the RI comp via prog disk to match the Ir of the motor (13).
2 Try increasing the GOV gain a bit
3 Repeat the experiment with the same batteries and fly the same way. If you see similar drops in rpm I would suspect the packs.
4 Try some other newer packs and repeat the test and see if you get the same rpmdrops.
5 Then try the 12 T pinion with the old packs at throttle 80 or lower if you want to keep HS down.

Sorry about the bold print I don't know how it happened not intentional. formatting!!

58 was my first flight and the bogging supriced me. I never experienced it this bad. I did some tic tocs some pitch pumps and some big air. Flight 59 I tried to push it but just not let it bog. Atleast not as bad as flight 58.

My budy said soldering connections right away but also wanted to see te log.

The solderings on my kosmik dont look nice. I know i struggeld a lot in just those. The tin would not shine as cooled down but stay dark grey.

The packs are like 1.5 years old now but dont know on the cycles.

They do balance perfect. Thing is I use them also in my other X7 with a 120 helijive and a 4525 ultimate. Never had the bogging.

I will try the things you guys said step by step and see what happens.

A normal or new GA 5000 45c should be enough right? As i see a lot of pro s fly packs like these on same setups.

This heli has got to rock with this setup.

Thanks for all the input and Ill keep you all updated.

Since I started using one of these my soldering has become much better in connectors.

I took a closer look at the log trying to learn from you guys. I see indeed the pwm at 100% pretty often. So I set my curve back to 80% .

Will solder some new connections too, try a few flight and then adjust the gov in the kosmik.

Just for my understanding, my temps are pretty low.The motor esc lipos fets all stay pretty cool, like hand warm. My other scorps are getting hot. But in this case it doesn t seem the setup takes a lot of stress. So a bigger pinion would not hurt mutch I think?

When lipos suffer they get hot right?

Just been very busy at work and all I finally got some flights today.

Out on the field not happy at all. Installed a bigger pinion 12t just to test. Im loosing so mutch headspeed somewhere..even in a hover. I measured it at 2100 on 77% it should be a 2250 ish.. Will upload and send some data when I get home.

I forgot my sd card in the kosmik so I slipped my phone sd card in. Hope it did write some data.

Even in a hover?? Then there is something very wrong somewhere!

Try a reset.

If not then its somewhere else.

This pictures is with the right ini on 12T

But headspeed was measured at the field 2100+
And thats right, the kosmik data tells me its 2180 and it should be arround 2250+
So there is a big gap there.. anyone got an idea where im loosing this headspeed??
