Default HK600GT Scale Build. First attempt.

Hi All. Just attempted a very first 600 scale A109 build. I know there are many builds but this is my version to the best of my abilities. I will run this page from my website as the build has been detail photo documented with just over 200 step by step pics.

Hope you have lots to say.

So far, so good. Painting blades is not one of my favourite things to do, either. Lots of work but so worth it when they are on and finished. What head did you go with?

Unsure on the head. Still deciding. This is going to be my last major heli project other than general maintainance of my fleat. On saying this i am thinking of going all out on a full scale head (or similar) and may as well spend the money considering i do want something nice since this will be my last heli. Still thinking?

You have done an AWESOME job on your heli man.. I hope it fly's for you as good as it looks.. That's a lot of hard work there.... If you don't mind and I hope I do not offend you..But if I may, I did see one thing that will most likely cause you an issue... The pinion.. I have tried several times to drill one out such as you have and have always had vib issues. I can see a small gap between the shaft and the top of the pinion.. Sense most of the pressure of the gear mess will be at the upper half of the pinion, I would consider cutting down the motor shaft instead and install a new pinion.

Thanks for the great feed back . . . . . .and yes your opinion on the gear pinion has been taken onboard and I will be watching this during testing. Also no offence taken, this is my first build so any advice etc will be greatly appreciated. . . . .since I have gone at this alone.

Default Teaser pic

Hi guys. I couldn't resist the temptation to quickly reassemble my build and do a photo shoot. . . . . . . . well really to check the swash plate ring clearance. Testing will commence in a few weeks.
