Default Servo Frame Rate Converter

Hi all,

Is there something like a servo frame rate converter unit?
Here is what I wanna do. I have this flight stabilization system for my heli that outputs a 50Hz servo signal to the rudder. So I figured that a higher frame rate and tail servo, say 333Hz (or better 560Hz @ 760uSec) would make the tail more solid. I suppose the response would still only be as fast as 50Hz (20ms) can go but the servo should keep better position.

One option that came to mind was a high speed gyro set to 0% gain... but there must be something better out there.

So does anybody know of a unit that I can place between the stabilization/autopilot system and the servo that will increase the frame rate?

Thanks,
Jan

No point, a servo holds position until commanded to move otherwise, repeating the command over and over does nothing. If the output of your system is at 50Hz, up-sampling it to 300Hz will have no effect on response.

Most gyros at 0% gain to weird things, like drastically reduced rudder throws.

Not necessarily correct. In some digital servos, the changed data value is not latched until the next rising edge (frame) is received. So, upsampling has no impact, but the framerate may- depending on the servo.
