Looking for powerful motor for E5-s 12s
Hi guys
My E5-s has a KDExf 600-530kv and runs great but since I started running 626 Rail mains I noticed the motor would struggle on hard collective moves. What would be the biggest motor you could fit in the E5?

I am running the Scorpion HKIII 4035-530 and it has gobs of power but considering people still run them in there 700s I guess it should. Another option would be the Savox BSM 5065 as it is almost the exact same specs. I find that these mid power 700 class motors really are great in our 620-640 size 600s . There is not a lot of extra room but they do fit between the frames.

The 4035-560 is the strongest of the 4035 series and is a great fit for the E5s with 626 mains and a desired headspeed in the 2200-2300 range. Its a real stump puller in a light 600!

Thanks Guys,
so it looks like Scorpion 4035 series is the way to go! now have to decide 530kv or the 560kv I run 2350hs and use 13t pinion, which out of the two motors do you guys think would fit the bill?

Run the numbers (kv, gearing, and headspeed input into set rpm mode) in the Castlelink to have your throttle % fall in the very high 80's to the low 90's. That will give you your answer.

If you are running that high of a headspeed on 620s go with the 560kv. I ran a max of 2050 on mine but spend most my time around 1950 . With the tail speed up it is a real great bird down at 1800 even with the 620s.
The 530 with the castle gov has a max of 2197 on 13 tooth and 2367 on 14 tooth.

that is odd, that is the exact same setup I had in mine, and I literally couldn't bog mine. I think your gearing may be off. I don't remember exactly what pinion I had (don't have time to do the math), but I was running 2300HS with 3300ma packs, and it would very easily pull 13.5-14 degrees of pitch. I had my Castle Gov % right dead on 100%, so right where she wants to be.

Honestly I don't think you should see much bogging from that KDE motor. I run a 3536-510 in my E5s with 626s which is rated 1000W less than your KDE for continuous output and it handles 13° very well at 2350 hs. You might want to check over your mechanics, gearing, and gov setup. Make sure your main shaft isn't shimmed too tightly and that your gear mesh isn't too tight. How much pitch are you running? What gov are you using? Do you have ESC logs you could share?

I run the same motor as Freeko. Never an issue. The one time I thought I heard it bog I was actually loosing power from a bare negative wire hitting a screw.
