Not bad! Much better than I expected! Do you recall what it weighed in nitro form?

according to the box, about 7.5lbs. My guess is with the same electronics it would be close to 8lbs

Hi Carey, is the gear ratio I found online: ''Main Drive Ratio: 8.538:''1 correct for the Fury 55?
It's higher ratio than T-rex700....... I would have expected a lower ratio for 600 size? something in the 7:1 or even 6:1, no?

What about 620mm asymmetrical blades with gearing around 9:1 ?

Align Starter - I don't have one but if it will start a std .90, it will start this
600mm blades - original flights were with 620's. Its a 9.5 lb model so its quicker with the longer blades. 9:1 gearing - would limit the RPM to around 1750 if staying within reasonable engine RPM. Most of the 600's perform best above 2K rpms

Because the model is now a little taller and a little longer its not as proportional as I would like but it does fit. I modified the rear mount positions so that they aren't as close to the edges of the canopy where its easier to crack.

I have quite a few flights on the model now
no real issues from a conversion perspective, model works as it should. Its a bit nose heavy but I'm not going to address that in this version the gear ratio isn't quite right yet, more changes this week.

Can you share your finding with the gear ratio you use please?
If I remember it's 7.4:1 on 640mm RT blade.

not impressed, the .55 glow engine is much more powerful...
he said 1900-2000 rpm, if the gear ratio is 7.9 your engine was running at 16.000 rpm ???? unless Tareq try one for fun I won't buy it. I'm very disappointed! |

Really nice....
I hope MA makes a lightweight 600 size heli for this engine. But you can get a modded RC engine for a gasser for about the same price of the GT15HZ. And after seeing the Century video of the downsized G30 with that modded engine makes making a decission on a gasser more complicated (in a good way). Excellent work Mr. Shurley. |

gasoline models are about economy. Fly a long time for not much cost with no mess
the goal is to get them where they fly acceptably for a majority of pilots. If you want a 9HP model, nothing will meet your needs but an electric this flight used about 16 cents worth of fuel and the model was still clean after the flight.
