Default new T14SG problem with "SA" label

Just noticed the other day that the "SA" (switch A) labeling is wearing off already on my Futaba 14SG-H transmitter! My finger never touches that area and I am very careful not to have fuel on my hands when using the TX.

Hobby Services says the whole front will have to be replaced (under warranty) and only they can do it as per FCC! Is it worth going thru all this trouble? Wouldn't be surprised if this only happens again!

I bet the panel was never clear coated to protect it. Was told they never have seen this happen yet.....if you can believe that.

Very disappointed in Futaba. Please fix this problem and send me a new transmitter - I will send you mine back!

I have been using Futaba since 1980 and have never seen this happen before!

Michael

Default Front panel label problems corrected by Futaba yet?

Still haven't heard from Futaba if this problem has been corrected and at this time do not want to have my new transmitter taken apart and have another front panel put in - only to have it happen again!

Must be a common problem as mine is the same....

Not a huge drama since it's only a cosmetic flaw but it tends to indicate that their printing process is not up to standard for the front faceplate.

I noticed mine rubbing off when some sweat from my hands/fingers was on the lettering and I tried wiping it off lightly...

Mine seemed OK for months [purchased April 2013]... Its only started to wear off in the last two weeks of use which is odd and I haven't changed my routine in using the Tx etc.

Just checked my transmitter and it’s good. Maybe there was a bad production run. What’s Futaba’s policy of replacing cases with problems like that?
