Default DSMX

The specification blurb from e-flite says "bind to a DSMX transmitter".

I use an old style DX7, which is obviously DSM2. Will it work with a Nano CPX?

thanks

DSMX/DSM2 are backward and forward compatible. You can bind either combination of TX/RX and they will connect, just only DSMX/DSMX will bind as DSMX and get the full benefits of the more advanced protocol. Any other combination of the two will only bind as DSM2.

Thanks all, looks as if I'm buying one then. Just hope it turns out better than the MCPX.

Define 'better', and we'll be able to tell you. I'm fairly objective, and don't pull punches if a heli has an issue.

Straight off, it's a LOT twitchier than the mCPX. The tail holds a little better, but still blows out by a couple inches on pitch-pumps. It also twitches in normal-mode hovers, though HH has said that should go away after the motors bed in.

For the moment, I still prefer my mCPX, though the nano is somewhat easier to fly in smaller spaces and the batteries are easier to deal with from a charging perspective. Then again, I'm still of the opinion that the mCPX is pretty good, so long as you don't Mongo-thumb the collective around like you can on a larger heli (relying on power rather than finesse/control), and actually develop good collective management skills.

My Nano BL is sent back to LHS because of bad motor/ESC. But speaking about DSMX, I discovered this with my two mSRX: One binds as DSMX, the other one as DSM2 (using the same model memory). Looks like there is a difference to the electronics boards.
