Ok that's just weird, i wasn't arguing one bit. I guess were just not on the same page. It's ok I'll figure it out.
But thanks again for your input and time.

OK My bad. Sorry. It seems like you don't believe what I am telling you. Or is it just not clear?

What specifically are you asking at this point? Did you get what you were looking for in your original post?

I know the 3G pretty well, and I think I can help if I understand what it is you are looking for.

I re-read the whole thread. I think I now know what you are asking. I hope. 8^)

Quote:
The only thing I'm hoping is that I set for max travel but in 3G at default rates it won't reach those flip and roll degrees of 12.
If I read this correctly, then what you are saying it that you set AIL and ELEV Control Rates to 100 (in 3G software) and yet you do not get 12 degrees of cyclic pitch. Right?

This is your indicator that you have done something to create a situation where 3G does not see enough pitch range to give you the desired throw (the 12 that they ask for in the book). I think you understand that this means that you need to increase cyclic and collective swash mixes in your radio to beyond that (14 degrees is a good number), and then go back into DIR mode to show 3G where the max end points are. If you do that, then you will be able to adjust to +/- 12 degrees for cyclic setup.

Quote:
leaving the cyclic swash mix at the same values in the Tx as you did in DIR mode
I think the text that you put in red must have something to do with software upgrade, as it implies that you can get enough pitch out of 3G to achieve the desired rate. I don't think it would tell you to set your rates in software if there were not a big enough range to begin with. I think it is a fair assumption that this text implies that DIR mode was set up correctly.

Warmer?

What i was trying to say is that on my heli i set for 12 pitch and 12 cyclic and 0 at mid stick (in DIR mode), I have no subtrim, all travel adjusts are 100 and i get binding in the corners at full possitive and negitive. Now that being said i was hoping that it wont reach 12 cyclic by me doing a full roll or flip being at default value of 70 in the 3g software..Hope this makes some sense i dont know any other way to explain this...
Thanks

Hello. Please anwser me. Do I got to much pitch negative and postive when I use the whole swash when I go from -100% throttle to +100 % throttle? From zero to max on the stick.

we cant tell you any thing from that, it depends on your set up, links, servo end points, mixing and all sorts of other things.... spend the 12$ for a pitch gauge or use a protractor or some trigonometry to figure out your angle of the blades, that will give you sure answers instead of best guess as we can supply

Mine is all good now just got back from flying and they both roll insane fast. I set for 12 cyclic but wasn't getting 12 until I changed the value from 80 to 92 in 3G software.

Thanks everyone for your input and time.

I set my 3GX 550 in dir mode at 12 coll and 12 cyc. After setting up limits and rev the unit then initialized . If I give full cyc either way combined with full ail and elv up or down (stick to corner) the ball on the servo arms hits the case and binds a little. I have the ball in the inner hole per the instructions. What is the chance of the gyro ever needing that full range? Should I set it up for 10 coll and 10 cyc in dir, will that reduce the servo travel?

Not sure about 3gx but in 3G v3 at default 80 elev and aile it won't reach 12 I believe you have to be at 100 to reach the max that you setup in dir mode.
