Default M4 or M5 diameter Grip Bolts?

Hey Guys,

Was preparing to install 690mm main blades on the Logo 600se and noticed the bolt hole in the blade roots is wider than the M4 screw I have for the VBar head grips. What are you guys w/Logos 600se doing? Are you installing the mains w/a collar around the screw or using the larger diameter screw? Please provide PICS/link(s) if possible.

Thank you in advance,
Byter

The blades I bought (Edge 693) came with 4mm bolt hole shims that you just press in the blades. Looking on ReadyHeli, I can't seem to find them separately. Any chance they're in a hardware bag and you just missed them? They should be gold-colored (brass).

Looked all over the spare parts bag to see if there was something resembling collars and couldn't find anything. I just bolted the blades on there w/o collars and there is a little play when you pull on the blades outward and inward. Figured the centripital forces should get 'em to spread out and put them in a happy spot. But not sure I trust that. Hope someone can chime in and suggest link where I can get 'em separately.

Also, when I tried to install the tail rotor blades the quickUK grips are very wide compared to the 105mm blade root thickness. Through in a couple of washers in there and it seems to be holding but doesn't seem ideal. Are the quickUK blade grips supposed to come with shims? If so, can someone provide a link for them?

You are missing all sorts of shims!

Yes... the Edge blades come with step-down collars, and yes, the QUK tail comes with two thick black plastic spacers for the tail blades.

Might ya know where I can get 'em w/o having to buy a new set of Edge blades or QUK tail grips?

Did you buy the blades and grips new? If so, write the company and tell them the parts were missing. If not, you got screwed.

You might call readyheli and e-mail QUK and see if they can help.

The spacers that edge tails come with work for QUK grips.
For the mains go to LHS and buy some brass tube, inner 4mm outer 5mm and cut/file to size.

Found the brass bushings at HeliDirect but will stop at LHS to see what they have. Usually not much. Will probably give Home Depot a try too.

I got the Align 3G 690mm blades used but that had never been installed as the blades were still sealed in there original package. It was from a member on Runryder. Never bought blades this size before and didn't think about the blade root hole being the wrong size so didn't ask the seller. Just assumed they would fit. Do the Align 3G's 690 normally come w/the bushings when bought new?

Oh... Can someone offer some blade balancing tips? Are you guys using SeeSaw type balancing tools or are you finding the individual blade's COG and weighing them? I've never done any of that. I've always just mounted them on a SeeSaw but with these larger blades I may be cornered into it.

Edge blades do. The work really well on the logo, as do rails (I'm told).

No.

What you can do, go to the local LHS, and get some 4id and 5id brass tubing. than you can cut your own bushings.

I look up the cg of each blade, then weigh them. After that, I put tape on the ligther blade to adjust the cg.

Yeah... Looks like that's what I'll be doing w/my blades then. Does anyone use a seesaw balancer though? If so, which ones are you guys using?
