700L TOP Servo Head Links Length Question
Just recently finished my 700L TOP build and I have a question about the proper length of the servo links in the head. I had to turn out each link to get the head at zero pitch at mit stick.. which is quite a bit longer than the manual suggests. I have probably 5 thread showing on each end which concerns me a little.
I first 90'd all my servos then set the links to achieve 0 pitch as described above. Did anybody else run into a similar situation with having to make the links longer than the manual shows? On a 700 size heli I want to make sure I have enough threads in those plastic links. I've gone over the head a lot and double checked all the servos too. |

I lengthened them on my 70o doms as well unsure how much but if you shorten you Dfc links to just leave one thread showing above the plastic link and then adjust your servo link rods to give you zero at mid stick you should be ok
I will check the length of the links when i get home for you |

5 threads showing is quite a bit if you are referring to the two main DFC links connecting to the swashplate from the blade grips.
I would lengthen the three swashplate linkages to raise the swash, this will allow you to shorten the main head linkages. 3 threads showing on each side of the rod is about right. This should be about 28.5mm~ of rod showing. You should be able to get it down to 1-2 or less threads showing on the main DFC linkages. |
