Default MPA question

PL8 with former paraboard. Board burned up...fuse did not work.

Tired of junk so bought a MPA board. Attemping to solder connections now.

When I first hooked up paraboard, had to make software change to make pl8 aware of board. Noticed this one has slightly different connector on MPA...do I need to make any software changes?

Hard to solder with 25watt pen..may need 200w gun to avoid cold solder joints.

Thanks, Fletch

With the Powerlab8, you will need to be running firmware version 3.31 and the charger will need to be set for JST-XH wiring mode. It may already be set that way for the other board.

Thanks..I already done than. I am going to adding longer leads to the universal as they are way too short.

Also any way to repair the TX jack? Mine is very loose and coming off the board.

You can send it in for service or attempt to repair it yourself. Can you tell which part is loose?

It's the coaxial jack that broke off. I just got a reply from Progressive R/C and they say it is a common problem/weakness of the MPA board and most customers don't worry about it. But considering the price, I figured it should not have this issue. While i would prefer a new board with no problems, I will solder the darn thing back in myself If they will replace the jack. I can't use my PL8 until this is resolved and it's a bummer having to go back to my stock chargers
