So I could not run 2700 HS with the helical gears with my 1400kv motor? are the helical gear drop in fit?

Best way to find out, use the RH head speed calculator...

Yes I think you can just change them out...

Lowest c rating battery you should probably ever run is a 25c. That with the 134t helical main gear and a 1400kv, you will need a 13t pinion to get 2700. The problem is finding a helical 13t pinion. I see 11t & 12t all the time. You might need to switch back to the 162t main which then it will require a 16t pinion.

yeah using a 16 tooth pinion right now and when I bump the number even a smidgen above 2600 the ICE setup says its not optimal. I got a 17 tooth pinion coming in. maybe I should get the KDE 1450 or the scorp 1600 motor but it wont have as much POP..

when you run a good Gov, it feels like you have more pop

you can even get away with a slightly lower head speed

+1 I know when I started using the Castle stuff, I was able to take 200 RPM off, and still get great performance!

Thanks! Hopefully the 17 tooth pinion will be more flexible in the RPM range.

Dave:
Im trying to make the upgrade with the 500 DCF, but I have some question, the new head doesnt need the radius arm? Also, my FBL is the 3G, do you think is going to work?.
Thank you
Gerardo.

It doesn't need the radius arms anymore...it's direct to swash. Also it will work with any flybarless controller.

Going from 2600 HS to 2700 HS with the DFC made a world of difference. This baby is a 3d beast.

Well I'm in!

I have thrown so much money at my 500 the last couple of months, what's another 150.00

I just ordered the DFC kit, grips, TB, extra shafts, shims, some extra dampers, and some extra feathering shafts!

I plan to build the head as a stand alone upgrade, like Deet did, so I will still have the KDE 3G setup as a backup? I might maybe sell it, and get a backup DFC...

Have any of you guys tried any different blades? What dampers work best?

KDE DFC head comes out next week. Should have waited a little longer.

I think you will like the DFC head on the 500ESP. Mine flies like a brand new helicopter. Vbar cyclic was already fast, but the new DFC head just makes cyclic so much crisper.

I have to replace the POM dampers with the stock dampers because the POM dampers just made my 500 wobble so badly. I spent a lot time trying to tune it out with Vbar 5.2 but was not succeeded until I replaced the POM dampers with stock dampers. It seems like the VBar did not like hard dampers at all.

A few days ago, I installed the POM dampers. The blade grips have too much play now. I donīt like this condition. Itīs not acceptable.
The next great minus is the flight performance at higher rpmīs and high speed. The heli starts a very fast waggin over elevator.
I had to reduce gain on my BeastX, by loosing the good stopping behaviour.

I've also ordered DFC head upgrade and ZYX for my 500 clone. I'm using scorpion hk3026-1210kv and 3300 mah 30c packs.
For some serious 3d it's not enough... It boghs during tic-tocs
I wonder is the FBL improves power and flight time?
Or should I order decent Lipos as well?
