Fixed my mcpx V2 signal problem

Hello friends, Just would like to share how i fixed signal issue on my mcpx V2.Recently after hard crash , my mcpx would loose signal all of sudden and would drop to the ground and signal bars on my dx9 would go blank but when i brought it real close to the dx9 then it showed full signal bars.I found that if i press the receiver chip(close to the antenna),then it would work.So after reading lots of posts,i decided to give it a shot.I adjusted temp on my hot air station to 180 deg Celsius to remove conformal coating from the chip pins with exact o knife and then i set temp to around 280 deg Celsius and pointed the gun tip on the all 4 sides of pins until chip got loose and started moving little.I used a metal tweezers to check when it got loose.dont move it too much.just a hair to get an idea that solder has melted.and after that it started working fine.I also covered gyro chip just to avoid any heat damage.So it was bad solder joint on receiver chip that was causing problems.

Interesting. I had never heard of a hot air station, but now see what they are after some google help. Thanks for the info and education.

Hey ninja. Good job on the resolder of that chip. It is a common problem with these boards. When you heat up the chip you can see the solder shine a bit and that is when it has fully melted and you can lightly press in on it to ensure a better connection. If you can, add solder to help prevent it from occurring again, with an iron not hot air.
