Question Did I burn it up?? (3GX)

By mistake (poor eyesight) hooked up the bind plug to the “Batt/Aux Out” port and the servos went nuts. Now that I have it in the “S.Bus/Bind” port the servos still bottom out with noise. So the question is, did I destroy this unit for good?

Pete

Are you using digital or analog servos?

When you hooked it up did it evan come on when you had it wrong?
I would unplug all servos & rebind it. Then turn it on in dir. Then plug up the servos to see what they do.

I had bound it previously before mounting in the proper ports. Then when I mounted it all that is when I put the bind extension in the wrong port. Not sure what I was thinking but left the bind plug in the extension when I plugged in the battery. Yes the 3GX came on & the servos went into a chicken dance mode. I ordered a new one anyway, I’m sure there will be no recovery, but will try what you suggest after work today.

PS: Hopefully the two satellites did not take a hit as well.

The bat out is the SBUS port and is the port you use to bind. You mean you plugged in the bind plug while powered? or into the channel input ports you use when you wire a separate RX?

Had the plug in the "BATT/AUX OUT" when I powered up, not in the "S.BUS/BIND" as required.

No, I tried what you suggested without luck, the servos went to the end point once I plugged them in. I decided to use a stand alone receiver (AR6115), bound it & same thing the servos moved rapidly to their end points. Could the Talon 90 have something to do with it? I still can arm it and run the motor.

I got it working Dale,

After sleeping on this and with nothing to loose, I decided to give the throttle calibration a go on the Talon 90 with the AR6115 still hooked up with no servos attach. Had to go 114% for both the high & low. Hooked the servos back up and we have normalcy with their movements. Hooked the 3GX, bound, attached servos and all is good to go. I’m assuming when I put the bind plug in the wrong port, it messed up the settings inside the Talon 90’s little brain cell.

Thanks for the help.

Pete
