PayPal Fraud.
I just wanted to share my recent sour situation with PayPal.
Please take care when it comes to securing your identity and account information when it comes to PayPal, or any other 3rd party service you allow access to your bank account with. My wife and i recently woke up to find our bank account over drawn over $700.00 USD. Keep in mind that the balance the previous day was in excess of $1,000.00 USD. My bank locked my wife and I out of our credit cards and bank cards due to fraud alert. After calling the bank to find out what exactly happened during the last 24 hours we found numerous recent transactions (14 all together). I had not used PayPal for months and my last item bought by me was a set of blades from grandrc. I opened a dispute with eBay and they ended up Ruling in my favor for all 14 transactions during the past 24 hours. I had to fax all the information PayPal found during their investigation to the fraud department at my bank. It was another week or so before our bank adjusted our account, reimbursing us for all the overdraft fees and reinstating our line of credit. In conclusion it was probably my fault for not using a secure enough password. PayPal confirmed that my account had been compromised and the all the transactions were done electronically though their service from Atlanta, Georgia. Thank god they were not able to get so far as to actually steal my identity. If your bank account is linked with PayPal then in the event your PayPal account is compromised, that information is available. Account numbers, routing numbers, etc... I've used PayPal for about a year now with over 300 successful purchases from eBay and other online businesses. It's scary to think what this world is coming to. In conclusion, use a password that's complicated. I'd also advise not allowing PayPal direct access to your every day bank account. Instead link it to a prepaid Visa card or something like that. Keep an eye out fellas. |

Look into the option where they text you a number that you have to enter to push a transaction through. I think they also have a little keychain thing that generates a random number ever few minutes that you have to type in, but you have to pay to get it. Think it is like $30, but the texting thing is free.
Sucks dude I got nailed for a bunch of cash a few years ago. |

I use a dedicated bank account (at a different bank than all my other acts) and keep 1 dollar in it.

As for someone's account and routing numbers being compromised, that info is on every check you've ever written, along with your name and address. |

As I understand it the verification servers are run by the security firm that makes the fob, not by the customer (e.g. Paypal) |

HILARIOUS!
A scammer giving advice on how not to be scammed! Brandon, I didn't think a person could be so ignorant but I guess there is one born everyday like they say.
I am curious though how you can go scamming folks after having been scammed yourself and knowing how it feels? What do they call folks without any feelings of guilt ior remorse? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm whatever it is your one of them people. Last edited by acftmx; 05-31-2014 at 06:20 PM.. |

besides the pp fraud and all or that , where is the 500 you sold to 2 different people? While all this was going on why no pm or answer phone calls. Did they hack your hf acc and phone also?
(just seen date on first post) I thought he just made this thread. Most of what I said still applies.

I have flown with this guy. If he needed help with this situation I would have helped any way if I could have. I've tried to call him , pm him , and also pm ed the buyers to just calm down and wait for him to come back and explain. I feel so bad this happend that if I had a 500 I'd throw it in the mix for one of the buyers. I'm just down to a couple of 450s at the moment.

This is highly incorrect. First off they have ZERO access to you bank information. Once a bank account or credit card is added only partial info is shown. I'm so sick and tired of people making up stories about Paypal's security. Own up to it. You scammed people here and now trying to make a sob story to cover up your fraud. Nothing is shown near enough to cause any type of fraud. Secondly a bank will NOT close all you credit cards accounts because your bank account got emptied. This practice isn't legal which could leave a person in high water with no access to funds. Now if all your cards also got hit with charges that's a different story but you never mentioned that. NoLogic obviously you have money issues i believe is completely your fault. You are scamming people here out of hard earned money. Own up to it. Deliver the goods or give them their money back. Plain and simple and quit making up false stories.

Still though.. Very unfortunate that a trusted HF member would turn and do this. What kind of man are you Brandon? You guys know his full name and address right? His wife? He shouldn't be that hard to track down.
