Default gyro question

I am having a time with my gyro on my belt drive SR, my gains seem pretty high for normal
Mode in order for the tail to hold (around 71 on my DX6i in hh mode) then when I go to
idle up, the tail wags so bad, I thought I was flying a Labrador puppy glad to see it's owner!
Lowered gain, to around 60, tail blows out like crazy on any throttle increase, so bad that I have
to give right stick immediately upon throttle up, but flick idle up.....holds good.....Anyone know
what might be going on?

I could be completely out in left field..it is monday morning afterall..

have you tried to increase the dial on the gyro itself and then lower the settings on the transmitter and see if that helps?

Are you talking about the limit or delay setting? I thought the delay was supposed to be set at
Zero, and limit is just for travel of the whatchamacallit on the tail travel on the shaft?
I suppose I can mess with the delay, but not sure about tail travel, I've got those set to where
It doesn't hit on either side upon stick input.

I guess I don't know what I was talking about....

This is what I was thinking of when I said what I did this morning..the gain on the stock gyro...

• The gyro’s yellow-colored auxiliary (AUX) lead and connector will not be plugged into the receiver. This is not a problem as the gyro
will always be in the heading lock mode and the gain value can be set using the gain value adjustment pot located on the gyro itself.
• After making the initial test flight, you may find that it is necessary to adjust the gyro gain setting value. The goal, when using a heading lock gyro, is to find the highest gain setting value at which the tail of the helicopter does not twitch quickly from side to side in all areas of flight. In the case of the G110 in the Blade SR, it is typical to have the gain setting adjustment pot set as shown below, which is only a few degrees off of full counterclockwise.
• Small, air swooshing noises along with a small amount of movement side to side is normal for a direct-drive tail system, like that found on the Blade SR. Don’t confuse this for a gain setting that is too high.
Note:
If the tail spins in one direction or the other as you are trying to lift off, please check the gyro gain. It may be adjusted too high or too low.

of course I checked the book on my 450 and it says the setting for my gyro on it should be as follows:

Gyro Rate: SW-F.Mode
0: 77.5% NORM 0
1: 76.0% STUNT

Sounds like you just have it set too low for stunt

Ah yes, I have a GY48 on it, hey it's ok, myself in morning before coffee, the wife might get
a grunt outta me the first hour....
What about heading hold, and rate mode? How does having the switch (f mode) when gyro
is programmed to operate off of the (F mode switch) how does it stay in hh mode?
Right now my hh and rate is on the gyro switch on my DX6i....does this switch still work when
Going from hh to rate mode?
