It will be the only way you get any real information from them.

Will be interesting to see how they perform once released. I'd give an honest opinion on it if I ever had the opportunity to try one; but its pretty hard to ever contemplate the investment with so many unknowns.

It will be interesting, and I'll give you an honest assessment as soon as mine arrives.

Obviously I would like it to work well, however this isn't enough money for me to have any problem writing it off if I don't see any value in it and put it in the lessons learned category.

Just odd to me why people were requested to pre-pay for a pre-ordered unit? Most companies don't even charge when something is backordered until it is ready to ship, let alone a spanking new system.

Whatever works though... Just an odd concept to me.

Hopefully all of you pre-order folks are very pleased and it will be well worth your wait. We are all in the hobby to have fun. I have no doubt that Art and crew know this and are likely just working hard to ensure customer satisfaction once delivered.

performance will depend on how immune to vibration the new accelerometer are.

as long as self levelling is activated there will be some sort of issue if your heli is prone to vibration.

If self levelling is not activated it will be less immune to vibration issues and will be just as good if not better than the sk540 in terms if flybarless stabilisation performance.

the question is how far has accelerometer technology come in three years in terms of vibration immunity?

But let's not forget that even older gyros can perform quite well with excellent programming to utilize them.

Worst case scenario:
They're trying to get a very expensive addon, for a product they no longer make, to work reliably. They can't due to the limitations of the older hardware. They need cash to keep the company afloat so they sell imaginary product for cash flow. They still can't make it work and blame it on other suppliers (cables and mounts). When all the prepayments have been spent. They go broke.

You could be right, if it weren't for the 540 bringing in a little cash flow I would say you are certainly right.

I'm not a "glass is half full" OR "glass is half empty" person, I think "that glass is too big".

I've also pre-ordered and paid in full, so I hope I'm wrong, but I'm getting ready to write this $520 off.

Why would you write it off?

You've paid by credit card presumably...

I'm waiting a couple more weeks, then I'll email Skookum for a refund.

If that is not forthcoming, I simply refer the matter to my issuing bank and get a refund through them for goods not delivered.

I used paypal. They have a 45 day dispute claim limit. It's now past that time.

Not a problem.

If you want to request a refund, you must first ask this from Skookum.

If you don't get it, you can file a claim through your issuing bank since your Paypal account has used funds from your credit card account to effect payment.

You will need to state that no goods were received, no refund was forthcoming, and PayPal's dispute time limit has expired.

You have a 90-day limit to claim starting from date of purchase.

It's time to bail. I've had enough.

I've requested a refund and even in the very unlikely event it is released, I'll wait till it's proven reliable before putting money back on the table.

Lets see what happens.

I don't think it is unlikely to release, speaking to one of the testers last weekend he said he had updated firmware to test, so I think Art is still working the last of the bugs out of it. I will say again that I am happy if they get as many of the bugs out as they can before they release. I have also paid in full for one but after a recent experience which was likely caused by a bug in firmware from another manufacturer I don't mind waiting a bit longer.
