I'm thinking of getting a Pyro 850-50L for my 700 xxtreme now running 12s with the CC edge 160 HV ESC. Heard nothing but great things and results with the Kontronik motors, i've never owned anything from Kontronik but like what i hear...

It's a beast. Will eat bad batteries for breakfast though!
Looking forward to getting mine going with a couple of extra teeth on the pinion instead of dogging it around under 1800!

Yeah I have a 18 t pinion now but will get a 19 as well to get the headspeed I like. I'm sure it will still kick ass on 12s right?

Well i've got several test flights with my Pyro 850-50 with CC Edge 160 esc and am very happy with the results so far! 18 tooth pinion running 2000 HS get solid 4 minute flight with packs left at 30%.Motor seems to work well with CC Edge ESC, still making adjustments to get best performance but so far so good

Thanks for the info, I've got a Kontronik ESC so hopefully will enjoy similar performance to you when I go to 18.....or 19.
Seems pretty sweet on 12S in my experience too. Nothing running too hot yet!

Hey guys, im thinking of ordering a Kosmik 160 to go with my Pyro 850-50. It does work with my CC edge but not that great after i finally got some more flights in. It just doesn't govern that well. I realize now i need to get the best ESC to go with the best motor! Also 14s would be sweet to get more power and more flight time

So I smoked my HKIII 4530 450kv Mauro.. Rigidheli no longer offers this motor, so now I'm shopping around for a new one. I also broke all 3 of the mounting tabs off my YGE 160hv (for the 2nd time), so im completely done with YGE's and their questionable design...

So.. Any strong recomendations for a 14s motor/ESC combo? As mentioned, I was running a hand-rewound 450kv, and I'd like to keep that much power going forward...

edit: I'm pretty much committed to going back to the 4530-450kv unless anyone has some other strong recommendation that outperforms that..

running an 18 tooth pinion, so headspeed between 1700-2000 depending which idle up I use.
2000 is more than enough for me, and TBH when they come out with decent 720-730 blades will probably drop that a bit to 1900 tops.
Both motor and ESC come down no more than tepid to the touch as do the packs.
Getting about 5 1/2 minutes at that, sometimes a bit more (got the Kosmik set up to drop the headspeed after 3900mah have been used)
Really really pleased with this setup, so much so that I invested in a similar setup on the 800 Xxtreme (850-40L and Kosmik 200)

RDavis- I hope you are still subscribed to this thread- you can use your Pyro 750-56 in the Logo 700... that is what I am doing. Greg Alderman is the authorized Kontronik guy in the USA and he can put the 750 XL shaft in the motor for you. That is the shaft that is used on the Logo 700 (8mm all the way down, long version). I am taking the Pyro 750-56 Competition and Kosmik out of the TDR to put in a Logo 700 eventually.

Hope that helps, sorry I didn't see this thread earlier.

Hi Ryan

Would you say the 750 would be better than the 800 in a Logo700?

Regards
Paul

I can't comment on it yet, as I have only had the 800-48 in the 700.

I have a 750 competition that I will be trying when I pick up another 700 Xxtreme.

One thing for sure is the 50g decrease in weight is welcome!

I spoke with a team pilot Mikado and he tell me, the 750-56XL is better than the 800-48 because same power and more light... So now on my logo there is a 750-50XL, next week i will test.

Hi

For the moment, i'can't tell you if the 750 is better because i'm adjusting the Vbar setup so it's just smooth 3D.

Sorry for the late response, ive not been on here lately. The Scorpion/YGE/Vbar gov combo can't be beaten! Tons of power and is totaly reliable. Afterall it is what was fitted best by Mikado for this heli.
