Default NiMH -> LiPp

What's needed to fly the NiMH model with LiPo batteries? I've tried some 2s LiPos and they didn't give enough power to get much lift.

That is strange. What size LiPo batteries are you using? The 8.4V NiMH battery weighs about 82g. If you replace it with a 7.4V 2S LiPo that weighs about the same, you might not have much performance because the LiPo voltage is less than the NiMH voltage.

I had a NiMH heli and replaced the batteries with Mystery 2S 900mAh LiPo batteries, which weigh about 44g each. I did not make any other modifications and it flew great with the reduced battery load and a slight decrease in voltage. I also doubled up the Mystery batteries to effectively create a 2S 1800mAh pack and the heli flew fine.

When I first got the heli, I tried an old Blade CX2 pack (44g), which had always worked fine. I assumed it just needed more power. I just tried again with a Gaui pack (46g) and it popped right off the floor to eye level.

Thanks for the reply.
