RPM to run at and gearing.

Using an rpm calculator, it looks like my new motor will give me some pretty high RPMs

Stock Gearing
3579 @ 100% eff
3400 @ 95% eff
3221 @ 90% eff
3042 @ 85% eff
2863 @ 80% eff
2684 @ 75% eff

This seems high for a 500 size heli. If I put a 61t gear in I could get:

2934 @ 100% eff
2787 @ 95% eff
2640 @ 90% eff
2494 @ 85% eff
2347 @ 80% eff
2200 @ 75% eff

Should I put this 61t gear in?

With a 1800 kv motor, I would run the larger front gears and run a 13 or 14 tooth pinion
Gaui headspeed calc shows 14/60/92% = 2671
13 drops to around 2400
15/61/92%=2815 15/60=2862
13/50=2777
All good for CF or GF 425 blades....

OK, I was going to order a set of CF blades so I'll add some gears to the order. I can get X5 61 gears form HD and they have the blades I want, so I'll get those. I have read they work as front gears on the Hurricanes. I am already running a 14t pinion.

Yep, get the 2 pack of X5 61t front gears and 60t if you can find them...Remember, Robinson Racing has .8 mod pinions if you cannot find Gaui pinions.
The CF Pro 3d blades work good from Hobbypartz.com

Thanks for the feedback. I ordered the two pack of the 61t gears. I got the Stealth blades, HeliDirect has them for $15 and I liked the brand on my 450 so I'll give em a shot.

Got a Robird in for it, going FBL! I wish I had a spectrum radio so I could use the governor, but I guess it does not matter at my skill level. (You have to use a sat or the like to use the gov on the robird. Not enough plugs.)

Now I just need to spend some time on the sim and I will be ready for the spring.
