Default How much vibration is normal 700EDFC

HeliFreaks,

I have a 700E DFC with AR7200BX Align 700 motor - low mileage.

When I lift into the hover, it tilts about 10-15 degrees to the left, tail in.

It's a new Spektrum BeastX and I'm pretty sure I've set this up OK.

At the weekend just passed I took off the head and tail blades off and spun up the motor, I touched various points on the heli, frames, boom etc... and there is definitely continuous vibration on the areas, would that be expected?

The components are virtually new, Heli has low mileage.

Thoughts?

Any spinning setup is going to have some degree of vibration.
How much is dependent...
If you see no blurring in the tail fin or shaking in the landing gear you should be fine.

If you are, possible causes ( and there are a few....)
Blade CG and balance
Worn bearings
Motor out of balance
Warped gear(s)
Bent shaft
Bad dampeners
Loose hardware
Excessive play ( swash, grips, ball links etc.)
Torque tube

Thanks for the reply,

I'll start with checking the blades/pitch and tracking again.

I've installed new main shaft and feathering spindle and main gear as part of the rebuild. two out of the three bearings in the main shaft were replaced, and all the bearings in the blade grips were replaced.

Regards
Mike.

Start with just the motor. Then add just the main shaft and A/R gear. Then add the head and grips. Then add the TT and tail box. Then add the tail assembly. Then the tail blades and finally, the mains. That way you know when you get to the culprit.

Also remember when you spin up the heli with no blades its not loaded so you are likely to feel move vibs then if it was hovering.

The motor is a good place to start and main shaft bearings would be next, also look at the t tube make sure the bearings are in the correct place in the boom and that the T tube is not tweaked. Another good thing to look at when in a hover is the tail fin that will give you an good idea how little or bad the vib is and try different head speeds
