Default Maiden Flight and Build shots with Full Size Vbar

I finally had a maiden flight today! Only one tank as Holiday family activities took precedent. I need to break engine in, tweak Vbar, hot glue the Vbar connectors, tweak Governor or even switch over to 2 channel mode.

Upgraded Items:
Metal Align fan.
Lynx m3x6 screws
Pitch slider maybe align maybe Gaui waiting to see if they replace non-damage pieces.

That is great news! Can you tell me more about your radio setup;

- what does the cell phone do
- what mount is it
- How does it work

Looks great!!

Thanks you.
The cell phone setup uses a Bluetooth app to control all Vbar settings.
It is mounted on a GoPro camera bracket. On the phone I also have the Gopro wireless App, which allows wireless video playback from a Gopro mounted on a Hexacopter.

VERY clean wiring job! Me likey!

Do you have any problems closing the canopy with the vbar mounted on the side like that? That may be an option for me, although I would hate to re-wire this bird!

Where did you end up on the vbar for your throttle end point for motor on/off? On mine, I ended up at 80% for Motor full throttle and -115 for motor off. I'm not getting good performance out of my setup and it could be that the vbar governor doesn't have good enough resolution on the throttle channel...but I'm not sure. It bogs doing tic tocs and sometimes when I do a fast pass and then flick the cyclic up fast to go inverted stop, you can hear the engine almost flaming out.

I see you got a switch and a sg mounted in the same vicinity. Are you going to cut a hole in the canopy?

I see the XT-60 connector. Nice. I ditched the Deans for those and have never looked back.

Canopy closes extremely easy with this setup with no restrictions at all. I had to tack the box with double sided a couple times up and down ever so slightly to get the fit just right. My throttle was -115 in off and approx 75 for full. Still not sure if I like the Gov since this was just a test run hovering. @Joallen001 I used the metal Trex 600N fan for 20.00 it also comes with a set of magnets. Do it and don't look back. The stock fan is crap! I really like the size of this nitro bird, it has some serious power almost cheek clenching.

Yes I bored a hole out with a Dremel. This really added undue stress to my type A psyche but the benefit out weighs the con.

The wiring looks great. It's a clean looking job.

What tape did you use for the V-Bar sensor? I see the metal plate but am wonder which tape for the sensor to the plate, then the metal plate to the heli.

Thank you

Joe

Thank you. The metal plate comes with tape already mounted. The layer on the bottom(plate to Helicopter)is the vibration pad and the tape mounted to the sensor and plate is like 3M mounting tape.
