When even on a date with your wife, you try to stop by the hobby shop....

You spend more on 'AA' batts than you do on food...

When someone comes to visit you, instead of saying hello you ask them if it's windy outside...

You spend a lot of time on your hands and knees looking for little tiny pushrods...

Youn know you are a heli junkie .. if ..

You learn by others .. but provide your knowledge w/o limitation to others as well..

So no rc-heliresource and other *please-welcome-X-to-the-a-team-Y-and-please-be-so-stupid-to-buy-and-feel-good .. *

How are the best guys one your flying field and you like w/o knowing why? IMO definetly the guys learning themselves and from others and whatever they know, they won’t think twice whether to teach/learn others about their findings .. every thing else is only marketing ..

Ever wondered why the guy on your flying field flying always pissing most of with the newest stuff never helps some others and all he’s doing is just show ? Pretty simple, the same as marketing, you can be an ace flying an old fashioned bird perfectly set-up .. but you can only be a buddy (and someone everybody just likes) by helping anybody to achieve his personal desires in this hobby ..

You (your personality and attitude) makes the difference – be real, buying new stuff or expensive stuff won’t impress anybody in the long-run, helping people with your knowledge will be of some values to the ones in the know ..

Get real, 90% in this hobby (rc-helicopters) became just a show .. enjoy your aim and personal friendship of people deserving being buddies .. everything else doesn't matter .. life is to short .. the only thing in life you can loose .. is your name (personality) ..

Best regards,
Oliver

a few months ago my dad came to "visit the family"
in reality we:
flew helis all afternoon (and killed one of them)
visited the local model shop
spent early evening fixing the downed heli
ordered a curry
re-visited the model shop for the correct part (thank god for late opening thursdays)
ate
finished fixing the heli
programmed a new DX8 TX
he went home shortly after that.

Father and son heli freaks?
The missus wasn't particularly impressed

oh, and I too find myself:
Examining any green spaces around for suitibility for flight.
Constantly watching flags and treetops for signs of wind and commenting to others.
Glad it's not just me.

Heck I can openly admit to having thrown the T450 in the car with me so I could "visit" fields on the way home from college today.

When going to vacation and not having space clothing has to yield space for the "travel heli".

When on a great day in the weekend and the wife tries to lure you for some action and you are actually considering an excuse for being early at the field.

When your girl wants help to learn how to fly helis to pick up the hobby too!

When you are making 3D programs and new maneuvers while dozing off on the train or driving a car so you almost crash!

You see a real heli flying nearby and your fingers instinctively twitch on an imaginary "air" controller.

I sometimes feel the urge to 'nose up' when I see a nearby bird dive towards the ground.

You're starting a Mikado collection since you have completed your T-rex and Blade helicopter collection.

I live about 1 mile as the crow flies from a local airport here in Brazil and I'm right in the flight path. All the helicopters coming in to the airport or going offshore come right over my house and as soon as I hear the turbine engine's I go straight to thinking about when I can fly again.

When I can easily spend 5 hrs absorbing rc heli knowledge on here and other sites and it feels like 1 hr.
I'm a noob so I've been gathering all the knowledge I can to help me learn correctly and safely.
