Default mSRX upgrade problem

So, I bought a microheli aluminum blade holder and main rotor hub but when I went to put the links on I found that they dont fit through the center of the "guides" or whatever you call those slots that stick out from the rotor hub. Microheli doesn't sell any special links so I'm not sure if I'm missing something or what. I have the links installed but the only way to install them is to slant them like in the picture below. I'm pretty sure this is incorrect and I'm assuming that this will affect performance somehow? Not sure what to do. Anyone have any tips or suggestions or is this actually ok?

No, that is incorrect. If you look at the pics in the link provided, the stock ones do go through it. There should be a "slot" in the aluminum. You need to completely disconnect the link and turn it sideways to pass through the slot, and then attach it. If that makes sense.

As i stated above the links do not fit though the "slots" in the rotor hub. They are to thick.

Sorry, I misunderstood. Never had that issue. Maybe sand some of the plastic off on the outside edge? Not the side that snaps onto the ball.

yeah I thought about that but i really dont want to have to do that, not to mention I shouldnt have to. I was mostly wondering if this was a known issue with these rotor hubs and/or if its a problem to have the links hooked up the way I do.

Well, I don't think it'll work properly hooked up like that. The one I had on an mSR was open on the end. Not closed like yours. Don't have one for my mSR X, but I was just looking at the links and the eyes on the end aren't much wider than the center. At this point you might want to contact Microheli. They may have had a batch that wasn't machined right.

yeah so I contacted the seller and they said that its not uncommon problem. They claim that the links that blade makes arent always the same thickness and it can causes issues with that rotor hub. I ended up just sanding the links down a bit on the outside even though I didnt originally want to. It just seemed easier than taking the hub back off and putting the stock one back on.

Shouldn't have to. I would have, out of frustration, but... So you got the links through. Any binding? Feel smooth? Tried it yet? Just read another thread that had the same issue with the Rakon one. He used a set of links from an mSR.

I'm working on a mSR X to kill the time this winter. Wasn't planning on replacing that part, but might. Let us know how it works out.
