mSR X Finally Earned its Money
OK so I have been very unhappy with my mSR X for a very long time now. I bough it thinking it was an mSR replacement for flying around my house. Well its really not. The mSR X is way to fast (for me) to control in even a large room.
Well today I hooked it up to my new DX6i and took it outside to an open area, and wholly crap this thing can fly. Without the fly-bar it has awesome forward motion, you just have to have space to let it. This may be my favorite bird this summer, low risk outdoor fast flying. It was awesome! So the moral of this story is: mSR: Inside small spaces stable flight mSR X Outside or large spaces awesome fast flight. |

Same problem here but almost always to much wind outside.
I can keep my MSR in the air inside but the MSRX only for a few seconds before it take off towards a wall or something. Don |

I know the feeling, had that issue a few years back. But then I started following the "All 8's" training thread on here and wow what a difference that made after only a few months.
Now it's years later and for fun I still break out the MSR X in the house but the difference is now I can toss it around like a rag doll inside without any issues. If you haven't started the "All 8's", go for it, it is amazing for learning your orientations and thereby making fun little heli's like the MSR X a joy. Cheers

Yah I am not flying that thing inside, I had 4 more flights outdoor and had no problems, even in light wind. It has good forward motion and if you have room it makes for fun and safe flying. mSR is my indoor trainer.

My mSR X was also shelved for a couple years, in favour of my mSR. It finally came off the shelf when I got my DX6i and did the MM mod on it. With the DX6i, it was flyable indoors for the first time, although by then I was not that impressed by it - its poor piro hurt it enough that it never did replace my mSR.
Its stock motor is also nearly worn out, and relative to my other helis that saw many more flights, did so pretty quickly (fewer than 50 flights). I'll probably replace that at some point soon, just to keep it flyable, even though it'll remain very infrequently flown since ordering a 2nd nCPS early this week.

I think the point being made is if you improved your skills it's not such a big deal with this heli indoors. Following the mentioned training will make a huge difference in what you are capable of doing. If you have no desire to learn and like sticking with FP micros then I guess it doesn't matter. It will help any pilot regardless of skill level, however.
