The link geometry in V3.0 firmware differs from v2.1 firmware.
The V2.1 fits my Trex700N FBL perfectly, while the V3.0 does not give the elevator servo enough travel. This is why the swash is tilting FWD at maximum pitch, and AFT at minimum pitch.

I tried the V3.0 in my Trex700N FBL, and the helicopter was downright dangerous to operate. Wobbling in aileron/elevator axis, and wanting to tip over at spool down. This was with the standard large heli settings. (No custom settings) Also tried to tweak the settings to get rid of the wobbling, but then it would not lock on to the commanded attitude, just sliding around.

Went back to V2.1, helicopter is rock solid. (On factory settings)

I think that there is a small difference in geometry among the different helicopters. This is why V3.0 is better than V2.1 and vice versa.. For my 700N FBL, the V3.0 is dangerous, while v2.1 is working just fine.

My new 700 DFC has two different holes for mixing in the elevator linkage. One for FBL and one for Flybarred, can this be the difference? I have no option on my old 700N FBL heli..

Just your elevator linkage not on ailerons? Doesn't make sense to me unless you had an option for all 3. Anyways on my fusion 50 no issues with travel at full pos or neg pitch. However my heli only does 1 level swash jump at initialization so I haven't flown it yet. Still trying to figure that one out...

Mine is called the 7200bx.Maiden was a charm and was relieved of all my 3gx flash backs and the wobbles in my knees began to dissapear with a smile from ear to ear
I have the new Ikon comming in the mail.Supposed to be every thing the bx is but with better fine tuning and tail is solid.I here it rivals vbar and vbar flyers are switching over.IDK though hope its not another one of them 3gx flies like vbar....We shall see but all the reviews have been great on it so far.

i went from 2.1 to 3.0 this week on 450....not good
major problems as e.g. in fff...Bang major left aileron could just save it
next fff...Bang major forward elevator and could just save it again

so i go back to v2.1 or in the bin with this

I'm using 2.1 on my 700. Works great. I tried 3.0 on my 600 and had the same result as apper001. It was also an update. Not a new one with the 3.0 already installed.

Last year (I think it was) I tried the 3G v3 on my TRex500ESP while my mini VBar was serviced.

It worked surprisingly well - it held the tail very well. I had nothing to complain about - easy setup.

But having spent a lot of money on the VBar, the 3G went back into the drawer, as spare.

Cheers
Erik

An old thread... So is anybody still using the 3G? I have a new one I am considering using on a Blade 500 3D to flybarless conversion, with stock servos. Anybody see issue with that?

If it works with an Align 500 then it should work with a Blade 500. The only question is the servos. They are digital but not sure the specs. They run warm with FBL controllers, the 500x has different servos. But no one has reported a failure with them and I won't be working them hard.

The first time I use futaba digital servo but I replace with align servo because Futaba nylon gear trip when the time I crash,If you have fast servo is good but for me,Align servo good enough,I fly sport fly, invert heli but not hard bang heli,Depend on your set up too,I have 3GX but not use because 3G work fine for me
