Default My first move to the electric side - SDX EP FBL

Have decided to give the proper electrics a try. SDX EP FBL will be up and running this Saturday. Futaba 750 Hirobo sl FBL head and bls 253 on cyclics and bls 251 on tail. All running of bec at 6,8v save the tail. Kontronik esc. 2x 4s 5000 45c Hyperion packs for my flight pack setup. Can't wait to give this a try.

So far my fleet consists of:
Quark
Quark sg
Sceadu 50
SDX YS56
freya FBL with ys91srs

If you havent worked it out I like my Hirobo products.

Do you do hard 3D? How is the main gear holding up? I guess the safest conversion is limited to 8S. I did my with 12S also FBL with Vbar and Kontronik80HV. I shredded mine 89T delrin gear 4 times on sustained load. I was flying 2x 6S 3300mAh Tunigy Nano and felt that the overall weight was too heavy. Maybe 2x 6S 3000mAh would have been better.

I gave up the project and sold the kit. Now I have the motor mount from TMRF, front and rear battery trays from Hirobo, and Hirobo's heavy duty one-way sitting on the shelf.

I prefer the SDX with nitro much better over the electric. My set up with Funkey paddles and Radix blades was perfect for me. The conversion to electric was a disappointed project. I personally think that the SDX is a bit too heavy to convert to electric. The main gear is too small to handle the torque from the motor for hard 3D.

I still have my FBL Lepton and will be getting the new "Embla 450E FBL"
For the big bird, I went to KDS700E and very happy.

Hi piyaphan. No 3d for me. I am a very basic pilot. I just enjoy my Hirobo machines. One of the other guys at our field has an sdx EP identical to mine and he is a hard 3d flier. So far no issues.

8S will be fine for 3D.
