I've got the false start problem with my esc.

I bought mine in canada thru rcflightstore.com

I know that the us sales go thru readyheli but do the canadian sales also go thru readyheli ?

I know there the mikado rep for north america.

Hi Martin,

I didn't have any problems but over the winter I decided to send mine in for the update anyhow.

I just sent it direct - for the cost of the postage which wasn't much it saved probably at least a week sending it through Ken or any other dealer. Mikado turned it round in a day at their end, so the only time was the postage service, was about 2 weeks total.

If you want I'll send you the info for how to do it direct.

Did you get a 700? I think the 700 s are fine. Mine was second batch from ken

My kit was a couple of weeks before yours, I think my firmware version was 25 (written in small black marker on the underside of the caps). When it came back from update I think it was version 27, but they also made a hardware change too.

I don't have a 700, but this fix came out in Oct 2012 so I think all of the 700's would have the new hardware and firmware.

When I got it back it had a different adapter for the governor wire which runs to the vBar. I followed the wiring diagram in the online 700 manual because that matched the setup they sent me.

so finally we have a fix. Not really just a fix and it's even more than an update.

this includes:
- check if Your ESC upgradable (and if not a replacement)
- software update
- hardware upgrade (the ESC is has to be dissassembled)
- test run under full load
- shipping cost back to Your home

The Update is only available here in Potsdam, so all ESCs must be send to us on Your cost. Maybe You can ask Your local dealer if he collects some ESC so the shipping is cheaper for each.

I pm'd Jörg and he just said to put a note in there saying 'Logo XX 800 ESC for update', with your address, email and your username on the vstabi forum. He pm'd me to let me know they got it. Remember German customs are very difficult too, so mark it 'warranty return' or 'for update' on the customs form and keep the value down around $20.

I checked out the 800 and it's a '25' esc

Also pulled the 700 out and i got a ' 27 ' on that one so were good

I'll get it pulled out and sent off.

I somehow got out of the logo 800 forum over at mikado , so i'll send and email and get back onboard again.

Can i assume the 700 esc will goto 16s ?

I don't think so.

I think I remember reading Ron (laughingstill) saying that the update was free, but then if you wanted the upgrade to 16s it was $20 or 20 Euro or something like that.

I'm pretty sure this warranty update and hardware upgrade is just to rectify the startup issues, and to improve the soft start to make it smoother.

The YGE 16S ESC has an extra lead. It's a spark arrester, since the built in one is only good to 14S

I sent my xxtreme 800 in the YGE to:

1. Have the stock firmware out on it so I could set governor store

When it came back it has the exprenal spark arrester. So did another one II bought for another Heli ( this one was not an xxtreme conversion)

2. convert it to 16S

This because I am going to run 16S and use a helicommand unit on it. So I need the gov, store of th YGE

The xxtreme version is hard wired. Can't change throttle endpoints and can set gov store.

It might be. The problem people have been having with the YGE spoolup failure is typically an intermittent thing. Everybody I have read about says that if they unplug power and re-initialize several times, but they usually get it to work after a few tries. If that's what yours does there's a good chance that's what it is.

If it just simply doesn't work at all, maybe there's another problem.

What version is written in small black hand writing on the underside of the caps? The spoolup failure was happening to version 25 ESC's - after update mine is V 27.

Mine false starts sometimes.

I changed the sliders in the gov in hopes of trying to fix it (pre this update)

I don't need to unplug and repower , i just keep trying to get it to start every 5 seconds.

After a few tries i can hear the initalizing tones play and then it will start.


A complete no start could be another issue all togeather.

I'd look at the throttle endpoints first myself
