Hi guys,
Has anyone tried THIS new engine yet? I did a search, and could not find any HF members that use this engine... Regards, G

Hey Gorgin
I ran across this engine while poking around the net. I haven't found much on it either... Is it a improved version of the YS91sr?? I would assume so. That being said... what improvements?? I need a engine for my Trex 700. I was going to go with the .91Sr but what about this one???? I would like to hear some other folks pile in on this subject..... Dr.VNos |

Hi,
Since I started this thread in mid March, I've been searching. I ended up buying the normal YS 91 SR because I heard the other one is more for helis with fuselages that dont get enough air in them. It has a larger cooling head. And I could not find any other info... Regards, G

when you read the box on the 3C it says right on there - Pressurized fuel injection 2cycle SHORT STROKE System.
YS 91 SR3C Helicopter Engine YS 91SR3C The 91 SR3C is the latest in helicopter engine technology from YS Features
Displacement: 14.89 cc Bore: 27 mm Stroke: 26 mm Practical RPM Range: 2000-17,000 Weight Without Muffler: 560g I thought the YS 91SR is LONG STROKE (I have 2 - YS91SR) it's says YS 91 SR Helicopter Engine YS 91SR The 91 SR is the latest in helicopter engine technology from YS FEATURES:
Displacement: 14.89 cc Bore: 27 mm Stroke: 26 mm Practical RPM Range: 2000-17,000 Weight Without Muffler: 533g the only difference I see in the specs is the 3C weighs more, so like you said it might have a bigger head for cooling for those heli's that need extra cooling.

Here's what I came up with but it doesn't list the SR3C.

Unfortunately not.
I have one but I don't have anything to compare it against, other than a OS 91 CSPEC PS. I've only put 4 tanks through it so far, but it does run very nicely. Not much help I'm afraid. |

A friend of mine purchased this engine on ebay and the only difference between this and SR is this engine has a bigger head for better cooling. Used when using a fuselage.

The YS91-SR-RR and the YS91-SR3C are YS-91SR tuned engines...
Tuned by a German champion named Rudiger Fiel YS-91-SR-RR is aimed at 3D hard core pilots... more power, more torque The YS91-SR3C is aimed at F3C pilots... so guess that it can run very low RPM without shaking... The website for the required info is http://www.heliguru.de/

No need to change anything Mike. A little porting on the Hatori header, use the SB-19, up the gear ratio to 8.07:1, you saw the results on mine at the funfly. It was still running at the break-in settings on the carb too. The dragrace was it's second tank on the new piston and sleeve.

Something is brewing in the YS world. I wonder if the newer SR3C is running this larger (not longer, just wider) con-rod I got from the YSpartsandservice a few months ago..
Also, the piston I got with that con-rod has subtle differences. Like some extra holes drilled in it for improved oil flow? The new piston has 4 holes just below the ring grove that point inward toward the wrist pin.

My guess would be...
They modified the porting for more power and set the rod up to take more torque!!

Someone told me this motor is for running lower RPM and is aimed at F3C. That makes the YS91 SR still the dominant YS motor for my crowd as we want to turn 2000 RPM

What? And the YS56 doesn't have a lot of feedback but looks like a good motor.

Considering the fact that the YS56 is not officially released yet, I think I has pretty good feedback. Especially from the Outrage factory pilots...
