Is there a better alternative to the Mikado 2447 tail rotor lever.
I can detect slight play between the metal ball on the slider and socket on the lever.
Both parts are new.

Yep there is some slop in this area. Don't know how much this slop contributes to the little tail wiggles I see quite often. But if you feel adventurous, you can be one of the first to try this new upgrade from KDE Direct.

Not at that price and weight ;-)

I was thinking about another tail control lever from another heli, or difference ball size

I have the quick UK parts, but it still uses the stock mikado tail lever, and mikado parts in the tail slider. (Bearings #1440, Control Sleve #2455 and Control Ring #3086)

It is the play between the Control Ring and Tail rotor lever I am trying to elminate

Well I found a way to eliminate this play.

The metal ball on the control sleeve is 4.86mm
I looked in my spares box and found some balls that were 4.91mm from a different brand of ball links.

Amazingly 0.05mm makes a difference.
The stock ball would fall through the hole, where as the new ball was a nice fit. Only very light pressure required to push it though.

I have one of the new design Quick UK tails, and the range of pitch on the blades it identical to the stock tail.

No chance to fly it yet, but it feels very good. Smooth a no play.

Thanks. I would like to try the Quick UK tail, slider and a new ball.

Interesting... You measured before and after? Where did you purchase the new style?

Yes I measured. I have 2 tails so I put the stock hub on one, and the quick uk hub on the other. Pushing the slider fully left or right gave the same angle the blades.

I got mine from www.fast-lad.co.uk about 3 months ago. I think quick uk did update the design to fix the geometry issue.

But you can order direct from quick UK (www.quickuk.eu), and I'm sure if you emailed them, they will ensure you get the new design part. (I expect the "old" design is not available and out of stock)
