Its nice to not have the SK software opening up in a tiny box for me anymore

=] Anthony, are we back to that forget the SW update prompt and only use the utility update menu?

only had the sk update prompt once , been using the update utility , I have all 3 working now so no big deal but I've never had a problem updating so if anyone else has the same problem maybe they could sort it out using the method I did.

Anthony:

The cause of that problem is that win 8.1 throws data at the sk540 faster than it can save it. My guess is that the sk540's flash memory is a bit faster after you reformat it with the bind plug trick. We mostly solved that issue by rev 4.02 by slowing down the write, but it sounds like it should be a bit slower yet. It might be a good idea to just format an sk540 from the utility menu before updating.

What are the symptoms to look for to test on the bench?

I have a R7008SB RX on hand but my understanding was this issue only affected early version of R7003SB never the 8

Re whether you need a pull-down resistor for sbus2: "What are the symptoms to look for to test on the bench?"

There aren't any. It mostly works ok anyways. But if you look at it on an oscilloscope, the logic-low level is almost 1v, where the usual standard is around 0.7 v max. So it's floating on the edge of not working. Futaba seemed to expect the other side to have a fairly strong pull-down R.

Just updated the SK540 to 4.05 and I'm having the issue with the reversed tail servo??
Is there a work around?

Default Updated to 4.05

Don't think there is anything in the new update that will benefit me and my G770 but I did update to 4.05.
It went perfectly with no issues.

Thanks!

Maybe something about your tail IS backwards?

For what it is worth, it is fixed for me on three different helicopters and using two different transmitters.

Its a SK540 on a Mini Protos with a Futaba S9257 Tail Servo. Using JR DSM2 satellite on a DX8. I have tried reversing the servo in the transmitter with the same issue. Tail servo is on the left side of the heli with the ball mounted on a wheel. The ball is at the top of the wheel.

Worked fine on 3.42.

Anyway I have a workaround for now...

my dsmx has been working all along so I guess I will hold off updating. I hope to get out for a few flights today on the E5.

I just updated my 2nd one tonight on my goblin 500 and when I updated one yesterday I don't remember it being 4.15, isn't it 4.05? Everything seems to be working fine, I haven't test flown it yet. Going first thing tomorrow.
