Default 14MZ Lockout

 I have a 14MZ that was serviced 2mo. ago
every thing checked out fine after the screan was replaced. My friend was hell..ping me with a set up and crack! went the screan. Well I had a new Min Air Stratus 5 flights. New 319 DPS Rec. new 9252 servos new everything batt was fully charged new os91szh pump. Lockout!!!! 20 feet in front of me total loss 3k down the drain no one on my channel. The next weekend Vibe 90 new everything same thing! lockout 20 feet away!?
14MZ is being checked out waiting to see if Futaba has a clue about what is wrong. If they cant find anything I will be surpised becouse I have a Raptor 50 with one of the recievers that crashed using a 9chp with no problems for 15+ flights I am thinking about going to 2.4ghz I paid so much for the transmitter only to have better luck with a 9chp?

Thumbs down 14 mz lockout

I have the same problem also.RF just decides to turn itself off when ever it feels like it. Nice eh ? Well not for me... Unfortunately it doesnt happen all the time but has cause 3 birds to fall out of the sky.Different recievers , batteries etc etc used and problem is definately the radio. After the last crash i notice the futaba logo flashing red and the RF indicator was indcating RF off ?? I read before where some dude had a similar issue and replaced his module. His probelm was resolved. I replaced mine and gave the radio a chance being it a 14MZ the fleet model how could there be such a problem. Went flying and had a great day ,flying cheap electrics of course as i am getting wiser came home to setup the raptors and bam the flashing red futaba logo - no tx - ???? Its like as if the module is removed only you dont get that msg alerting you of module issues on the screen.
Had the damn thing back twice and all is ok i am told . So how do one have the confidnce to continue to fly or even chance close up sideways tic tocs with a 90 ??

Default Shouldn't failsafe save you a crash if you loose RF

I think if the TX module fails or radio switches off, the radio should enter Failsafe mode, Unless it's not programmed!

Am I dreaming or FS wont cover your ass in this case?

Yes it should enter failsafe mode if it has been activated and set up. If not, then it will go into Hold. It will hold the last clear command it received, till another clear signal is received.

Did you guys set up the model file from scratch, or just copy and modify from some other model file? I have a weird experience where a particular model file (copied, modified, etc thru the TX programming) lock out the TX intermittently (lights change from green to red and some channels not working). I deleted that model file and created a new one from scratch, and does not have this problem with the exact hardware setup. I never have problems with any other model file either. This particular model files looks perfectly okay. Looking back, I should have just kept this model file as an example!
