Default 7s revo bat decided to quit. ????

I know these things happen but I would like to understand more. Its a lightly used battery and fully charged. no error shown on pl8. 3 hours later it goes into my logo and kosmik wont initialize . I test battery voltage and get an error so I throw it back on the pl8 and it only shows one cell active. Now how is that possible?

Did you try to connect with Revolectrix? They are very helpful, especially John.

Im sure they are but what I really wanted to know is the physical reason why a lipo would decide to go from 7s to 1s.

The first thing to do is to verify the readings with a DMM.
Carefully probe each cell via the balance connector.
Look at each "half" if it's a split pack
Check for blown adapter fuses and so forth. Occasionally, the various connectors can get cruddy, and should be cleaned, even if you don't see anything on them.
Are you sure that you have set the charger properly?
