How bright is too bright?
I guess it's too bright when it's difficult to see at night. The LEDs I attached are way brighter than the glow wire and blade LEDs. I was thinking that PWM might be necessary to "dim" the LEDs so they're not severely out-shining the other lighting. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Those look like LED strips. If so, then a PWM controller or a resistor on either the pos or neg lead would work also. LED strips are fairly dim on 8.4v (2s) so maybe a voltage drop to 10 or 10.5v would be better.
Also you might want that UV led on the tail closer to the blades and not pointing directly aft. UV and even blue LEDs have a slight blur, especially through older eyes. On my night flyers I ditched the UV and went with a short strip of either white or yellow wrapped around the vertical stablizer. Looks great so far. |
