Yes, my comment about me being a buffoon simply referred to the lack of reading or comprehension of your post, when you said it would not have been done with a Pro, I just thought you meant CPII HD had not been done with a MB, which it has, by at least a few, and as you rightly say it could be done, if rescue was off on the Pro. Sorry for misunderstanding.

As for being scared, yes they are scary and aggressive rescues, but that was my choice. I had the output of the CPII travel range increased so it could go to 125%. I think it might be in a section that says something like, allow CPII to overdrive servos. Of course with this type of set-up it isn't able to overdrive the servos, only the MB input, so the MB then just delivers faster rates. This meant that even though "I" was flying the MB with rates of only 100%, perfect for normal 3D, the CPII could fly the MB at rates of 125%, giving it very high rescue rates. If I had turned that down it would have been more gentle, but I figured speed might be important, especially if I ever wanted to try a lower setting, if and when that became available, which it did.

Lower settings became available as a result of some clever guys finding a way to trick the HD setting, and then also later, when they released a lower version, with a minimum HD of 30 feet I believe.

Never tried it again, as I realised even 30 feet simply wasn't good enough for the way I wanted to fly. Well, I probably had a few more packs, not on video, but it certainly didn't stay on the heli for long. Kept hitting the deck when I was just trying to fly around, or trying 3D when I was in the deck, and having no throw available due to the automatic restriction, lol.

Wasn't too scared when I did that video though. I was confident in the set-up. It had flown well with the MB alone first. Then with the MB and CPII with manual bail out, so all those things were tried and tested. The only thing that was new at that point was an auto trigger. If it hadn't triggered, I was also confident I could have done a manual rescue in the last few seconds anyway. Worst case, it might have gone in, but I'd already set that mental limit, of, so what, it might go in, at least it will have been fun trying. It was something to do at least, and it did work just exactly as advertised, even in conjunction with a MB. In fact it was probably better with an FBL heli and controller, because of the way those allow total flexibility with regard to the flight tuning of the heli.

Was fun at the time, but not for me.

I'd still try the combo version of Pro with GPS and altimeter though, if and when it is released, even if it won't be for me in the end. I'd try it because I'd like to experiment with it, and try out features like HD rescue, WP planning, and RTL, etc, which I assume at some point it will get. If not, maybe I'll pass.

Cheers

Sutty

Yeah, they changed the minimum, with a load of disclaimers of course, about at your own risk, etc, etc. Don't know which version you need to get, as the original was restricted to 50 feet, but I recall it coming out. Maybe they withdrew it? Definitely was out at one point, and probably still is.

Does the AR7210bx have the 6pin connector on the side like the Microbeast Plus?

Based on the previous post ( and this is nothing more than my guess) the GPS module will be a separate unit that plugs in to the FBL system via that 6pin connection.
