I thought I had my wiring jib pretty secure but I guess not. Had the aileron servo plug pull out of the receiver in flight today. No damage but what do you guys use to secure the servo leads? Art and I were going to use some heat shrink on the plug side of the receiver to keep things from slipping out but was curious if there was something better.

I've never had this happen on any of my helis before so it's new to me. Everything is new as well so I'm kinda perplexed as to why the leads are already loose enough to come out...

Anyhow, the Spartan and MultiGov still rock but I think it's time for a switch glo.

Yah my remote glow driver has been p!$$ing me off lately it only makes contact like every few flights so I keep having to remove the canopy to start the heli

So now I clean the plug and the remote thing after every session when I have the canopy off to charge...if it persists I'm totally on a switchglo

My ALign 2in1 seems to working out OK and at least for my style of flying seems to cope with the 8717s. If you don't use Enya plugs the OS remote glo lead seems to clip on pretty secure if you get a good one

Shoe Goo works great for holding servo connectors to the receiver case. Just put a little dab between the two and it will hold them together until you are ready to peel it off. You can also spread the goo over the top of mutiple connectors so that they cannot separate from the receiver unless all of them are pulled out at once or you remove the product. Been doing this for years and have never had a problem.

I put some goop on the plugs today and was impressed at the results.

I did however tweak something after a hard landing when the aileron plug came out. The heli is now drifting counter clockwise when viewed from above. I went through the tail box (disassembled and reassembled), checked linkages and gyro settings and can't figure anything out. I rolled the tail shaft on glass and it's definitely smooth. No weird slop or binding so I don't know what to make of the situation. I updated the gyro's firmware after the hard landing and before flying today and the only thing that caught me off gaurd was that the endpoints changed about 4-5 points.

I'm going to double check everything in the morning, reset the gyro (althoug I highly doubt this is the problem) and see if the problem persists.

Now that I'm thinking about it, maybe that hard landing knocked the fan out of alignment and now I have some vibes...

What gyro are you using ? - I've been puzzled by a slow tail drift on the 2nd / 3rd flights using a DS760/9256 on the Stratus - seems resistant to resetting centre (rate/HH mode switching) and I also have updated firmware.

PS - Is yor gyro mounted on the top mount - quite a few Ozzie have relocated it to the front plate further away from potential bearing noise from the main shaft and clutch

For some reason my other pictures got deleted, but I'm using a 760/9256 as well. I have the gyro mounted on zeal tape in front of the clutch shaft.

It's strange that everything was working perfectly that's why I think something might have tweaked something a bit.
