hi,

I was wondering how many drill up the hole in the upper Collet?
And is it also necessary for the YS91SR?

Good question! - I feel that the OS shaft may be slight bigger on the later versions of the SZ - I really couldn't make ANY adjustments with it tight - as for the YS - I have no idea

Hi John,

I will unmount my fan on my YS91SR
I'll let you know the size of the collets and the cranckshaft thread.

PS:
is it best the measure the dial out/alignment, on the top on on the side of the fan?

I think its best to do it on the inside. A maryland fan would be even better.

I don't think it matters - run out is run out - the inside of the hub, the outside of the hub or the hub face will all reflect lack of centering - it depends a bit on your dial gauge - mine had a plunger which worked best against the face of the hub - some of the lever dial gauges might work better inside the hub. I found the face of the hub to be smoother - there was a little bit of irregularity around the margin of the hub - which hadn't been machined - which made consistent dial readings difficult.

I think both YS and OS shafts are 8mm but the taps are imperial (5/16x28) on the OS and metric (8mmx1) on the YS". It seems the position of the start of the tap from the front bearing that is critical and slightly longer in the YS.

Not sure - think it might be the regular Startus with gearing for the YS engine - the MA site not always the easiest to navigate - check out Ron's Heliproz - he lists it

It's a great kit and strong as nails - did a bad dumb thumb in rotor first doing funnels too low in bad light and aprt from the usual bent shaft and popped links there's very little damage - did the mother of all chicken dances due to the radio getting popped but even so the T700 flyers were amazed at no frame or gear damage.

What do you want to know? Building and setting it up is pretty straightforward.

MA is out of Sorrento, FL. How far is Clearwater, FL from Sorrento, FL? I would love to visit MA in Sorrento one day.

John, With the help of your vid's, I just finished my BW Stratus build. Well done my friend, and a huge help as the instructions included in the kit aren't the best. Now its time for final set up of the head and flybar and then the break in. Thanks again for a great job on the vid's...
