Icharger 3010b, 306b, and logview
Hello All
I have a slight problem with my Icharger 3010b and 306b with logview. When i do a storage charge using logview with both chargers running on 2 different pc's they all charge ok and logview runs ok as well. But if I do a balance charge when the charger has finished and bleeps it resets logview so I loose the data and on the charger screens I have the "done" on the top left but a "TRK" below that, can not find what TRK means....Hope some one might have an answer for me...... Regards Adrian Well after posting this I have now found the answer........TRK stands for trickle charge and as the charger restarts in trickle mode it must reset logview........ I can't get LogView to work at all. It works for showing Spektrum telemetry logs from my DX8.
I can't open the log files from an SD card in the 4010 or 308 DUO. Using the latest version of LogView and the latest firmware for the chargers, it always says the files are corrupted or need an update. Even turning off the charger before pulling out the card didn't work. Do I need to unmount (aka "eject" for Mac users) the card before I pull it out? Maybe the charger is still writing to the files even though the charge has ended and I hit stop twice. My computer doesn't even recognise my 308 Duo when I hook it up via USB cable. On the 4010 (same firmware version on both) it worked flawlessly, even when the charger didn't power on at all (it's on its way to Junsi for repair right now). Would be very grateful for any kind of tips.

This threw me at first with Logview too. Not trickle charging, specifically, but if I let the charger start something else, I was losing my displayed data in Logview.
Then I realized that it just makes a new "session" in Logview each time the charger starts something new. Like going from a Charge to a Discharge. But you can still see the previous ones. As I recall, near the top of the screen, there might be something showing "1) Charging", or similar. I think if you finished the Charge, and started something else, you can maybe drop-down the arrow to the right of this field and go back to the earlier processes that were logged. I think there might also be left/right arrows that you can use to move through the different processes. So take a look, your data may not be gone. I found this feature kind of nice if you want to charge/discharge cycle a pack several times, and compare what went in/out each time.

Crowbar, a few thoughts. Logview is not very intuitive, at least for me. But being in Germany, you may have a language advantage, for the things that didn't get translated into English
- Install the copy of Logview that came on the included CD. Do not use the version from the Logview website. When I bought my Duo in the fall, at least, the Logview site copy did not include the 308Duo, and did not work for me. Installed from the CD, and it worked. - To open the Logview files, first set your charger type, like 308Duo. Then I copy the log files off the SD card, with the card plugged into my PC. Now, in Logview, go to File, Import Devicefile (*not* File, Open). Now browse to the logfile. - My 308Duo shows up when I plug it in via USB. I do seem to recall having to do something with the Logview driver file (folder?) that Junsi includes on the CD. I'd already had Logview installed twice on this computer. - You don't have to unmount the SD card or anything. I do typically remove it when the charger is powered off, however. Not sure I've done it with the charger running. Don't remove it when a charge is going, certainly. The beauty of the SD card is that there is no real reason to mess with the USB cable, if you'd rather not. Also, be careful if using a normal USB cable. I use the special USB cable that came with my 106B+, which has the grounds disconnected from one end to the other. If your charger and computer aren't at the same ground, and you're using a normal USB cable, they can effectively short through the ground, and current can flow between the two USB ports (bad). To be safe, if connecting it to a computer is only going to be done to transfer files, etc, you could power the charger from a LiPo. Then it's not grounded, reducing the risk of an issue.

Hello Red
Thanks for the info on logview, I will have to look at this next time I am charging. At the moment I have switched off trickle charging on balance charging. I can not really see a reason for this any way.... Hello Crowbar Thanks for your reply also, though I can not help with 408d any using sd cards. I did not know that you can import Spektrum files into logview. I use a program called Telemetry File Reader...... Regards Adrian... |

I also have trickle charging disabled. I don't know what the benefit is with LiPos. The only thing I can think of is it could get you a bit closer to 4.20V, if you finish, say a 1C charge, and maybe don't take the packs off for another 10 minutes. But that's not anything I care about.

Wow awesome tips, RedOctobyr. I always did the "open file" thing.
I shall try these things out soon (thread is bookmarked), not today though because I need to sleep (it's past midnight) and tomorrow is a flying day for me. The current log view version from the website does indeed not list the 308 Duo. Good to know there's a driver on the CD (weird that I didn't need a driver for the 4010). Good insight about the ground as well. I always hooked it up to the laptop which is running on battery, so no ground connection. I'll also look into this Telemetry File Reader as LogView generally crashes if there's more than a handful of logs on the TLM file. I kind of only use telemetry to know in realtime if I'm pushing the heli too hard or any of the batteries is failing. Good to know there's another tool out there. You guys both made my day! I'll thank you even more once I get a minute to try it out. I can sleep well know knowing it's probably all in working order after all.

So, I just tried plugging my 308Duo into a Windows 7 computer with no Logview or Junsi stuff on it. Windows installed a driver, and then the SD card appeared. The charger was already powered up when I plugged in the USB. And the SD card was installed in the charger.
So, umm, it looks like maybe the charger should appear even without anything else installed Definitely try another USB cable, of course. And/or make sure that cable works with other devices that send data (apparently some USB cables are so cheap they *only* carry power, but aren't wired for sending data). Your SD card is plugged in right-side-up, and readable/formatted, right? I don't know if the charger appears in Windows, if the SD card is unplugged or not being recognized by the charger.

Oh wow, got it all working without the driver CD. All it took was having the SD card inside the charger so that Windows would see a new device and install the drivers.
Latest LogView version from the website does now list the 308 Duo. Interestingly I had the same version number installed. Mabye the newest one is the same version but with more device files on it. Anyway thank you both so much, first time I can actually see some data.
