Hi, I fitted a few upgrades today, new main gears and a few cosmetic changes for better visibility. I already upgraded the servos so I guess the gyro will be next. I'm finally getting the hang of nose-in, slow circuits and eights, too!

Love that hi-viz canopy. And a camera?! Are those the optional CNC Delrin gears, and if so, do you like them?

That new gyro should definitely be the next thing on your list!

Yes, very pleased when I tested them today as they are perfectly true unlike the stock ones, my heli used to wobble on spool-up now it's rock steady and sounds quite different too. However... I also fitted Align blades and replaced the main shaft bearings, I can't be sure which helped the most.

Thanks for the update. I'm guessing it was the gears. I've changed out lots of blades and bearings and never really felt a difference like that.

Awesome looking new fusano canopy! That has to be the best looking B400 one I have seen.
I started running the cnc cut delrin gears years ago. The stock gears can be out of round and molded off center as much as a mil and a half so it is impossible to set perfect gear gap and have the rotational mass perfectly balance when the gears themselves are forcing the assembly off balance. On mine not only did it make a huge difference eliminating vibes, but running the 6s mod I had to since with mild punches of the throttle using stock gears it was shredding them on the lower engagement side.

Where can I find the set of those Delrin gears? I have seen the main but not the tail gear.

I got mine from FastLad in the UK, can't help with a US supplier but I'm sure there are plenty. The lower gear is part number MH-B4202 and the upper gear is MH-B4201. You'll need a BLH1649 one way bearing shaft & shim set too (or re-use your existing one).

Microheli makes the main gears. I have them, but they're awfully expensive for what they are...

Those carbon paddles look nice! The dog looks like he'd rather have the attention focused on him.

Cool Helis Guys! You inspired me to get off my lazy @#! and get one of my spare Mini-Titan canopies fitted to the B400. Made two 3mm holes in the B400's frame, cut a 3.5" length of 3mm dia. CF rod, and used two 1/2" lengths of fuel tubing - a lot simpler than I thought it was going to be The B400 canopy actually fits inside the MT canopy ...

OMG!!!! That Blade canopy just entered the rear of the TT canopy.......... Heli Porn...

On a side note, you can run a GY401 on its side like that? thought it had to face front/rear

The pontoons will be there I'm actually liking the two color - red/left green/right - they help even more as far as determining the heli's attitude goes. I don't know about your guys' helis, but just about everything except the canopy disappears when my heli gets 100 or so feet away and I can't tell what it's doing. Could be my eyes as they're not getting any better either I also recently noticed they function like tiny air-brakes - slowing the heli down just a bit, but not too much. I'm okay with that for now Kinda like dual rates for FF.

Yea, as far as I remember the gyro just has to be mounted perpendicular to the main shaft (or parallel to the boom) - the wires seemed to work out better over there, no problems yet (keeping fingers crossed).

Heli Porn - LMAO! Going the other way - a sort of disturbing alien birth thing going on when they're pulled apart ...
