Hi, I just finished wiring mine...what a job! Fit 5 servos, full size vbar, battery, SwitchGlo, RPM sensor, and 2 satellites in a tiny frame!!!

Before:

After!!! YEH!!!

Ok, here's what I did for the RPM sensor. I used 2 of the brass inserts from an old Trex500 pitch slider tail I had laying around. I used a washer on each side of the frame and a washer on the sensor itself. Trickiest part was lining everything up and then tightening down on the bolts.

For the header tank, I used the two smaller spacers and this gave me enough clearance to run the tail servo linkage between the main tank and the header tank. I then cut out a piece of foam and taped it between the tanks to provide some support.

Other side...

I used an electronics mount on this side to install a satellite. The other satellite is in the back over the boom block.

You'll notice that the throttle servo linkage is not level. If you install the servo per the book with the horn closer to the top of the heli, then you have to put the ball link way low on the servo horn so it will be level with the horn on the carb... however, this gives it too much throw and there is not enough resolution for the vbar. By installing a shorter servo horn, you can use most of the stick... I think I ended up with 84% of max throttle on the vbar and -115% per the combined mode instructions to get full travel from fully closed throttle to max throttle.

I liked the advice of installing a filter between the muffler line and the tank. This is a 2-way filter and is very low restriction. I also installed that shut-off valve and used it to pressure test my tanks. I closed it and then started pumping fuel into the tanks using my electric pump.... soon after the header tank filled up, the pump started choking! I released the pressure by opening up the clamp and all was fine... so pressure test passed.

Novak tape is your friend for securing those connections to the FBL controller!

I managed to get the little engine started today and ran it for a couple of minutes. Starting it isn't a problem, or even idling it, but once I move the collective a bit, it stalls. I have the needle set to 1.5 turns per the book... so I may have a fuel supply issue that I'll work out tomorrow.

Did you use the smaller clunk line that came with the kit? I ended up putting full size in mine. Looks really good, much neater than mine. I have a clump of satellite wires I need to stash someplace.

I used the same header tank and actually installed it into the middle bolt with the red washer. One of the bolts and standoffs from the quick UK mount Kit worked great.

I used the one supplied with the kit because it has a filter. Gawl, can you please post a pic of how you did the header tank installation? Thanks!

Carlos.

You got it, just take your current setup and move it up. On the 3 bolts with the red washer, remove the middle one and the bolt from the quick UK kit will fit in. You can't use the nylon lock nut, but a little locktite and it's ready to go.

Hmmm, have you tried to fit the tail pushrod yet? Also, the instructions for the tank explicitly say not to attach it to a bearing block...

What's up with your skids?

No I didn't see it saying anything about not fitting it to a BB and have not mount the pushrod yet. If the BB thing is an issue I'll look into relocating it.

As for the skids, I put a set of the Gaui CF skids on

Sure enough it was blocking the tail servo rod. I drilled a hole into the carbon fiber support that has the rubber gromets on it and mounted it there. Looks really good.

Had to change my vbar mounting to the same as your as well Carl. With it on the side the canopy still didn't fit.

Have a pic of where you drilled the hole?

I'll get one up in the morning for ya. I just drilled it in the middle of the carbon fiber support that hold the main tank in place.

Yeah, I'm not sure that's such a good idea. That piece is small and probably not going to hold up well if it has to carry the load of a full header tank moving all over the place while just being held by one bolt... you're putting a lot of stress on a small and thin piece of CF. Alternatively, if you want to use that piece for mounting, you can try zipties around the whole header tank at several places... that way you distribute the load.

Carlos.

Yes seems like jc used zip ties to hold the header tank on.
