After getting offered a refund for the kit, I decided to just attempt to fix the swash. I used a piece of plastic bag to wrap around the swash and gently squeezed the outer hub with a pair of needle nose. Got it spinning good enough to not bind up links. After that I, I modded it to a rear A/R bracket so I guess I'm not getting a refund now . Overall, if I didn't have to deal with the swash, the kit is pretty good. Make sure you locktite the balls in the grips and swash. The grips are going to need very thin washers to take up slack in the feathering shaft.

These are great for taking out that last bit of slop:

You can also file down the stock feathering shaft .3mm (point 3mm). Make sure you only file down the threaded side of the shaft!

Just an update:
The aluminium shaft bends after a couple mild crashes in grass... but I didn't think that would last anyways.

Only just had a chance to look at it, First impressions seem good but will have to wait till I install it until I can be sure. I Have a microheli swash I can compare to.

Any update ghost?

Im seriously looking into ordering them. Even if the performance is "marginal" it's fine.

The silver and red both are out of stock unfortunately

Can't speak for ghost but.... the kit is worth it for at least one or two parts. $28bucks!? Can't really complain since the prices we have been dealing with for aluminium/hop up parts have been so high. Hobbycool (Kevin) is really great about returns if you want to return faulty product too... but I couldn't justify a return based on the price to parts ratio. I do, however, wish that these places would at least do a once over on parts before they ship. It takes a minute, and saves so much time and hassle.

I managed to make my DOA swash work after some know-how. This made it worth it. Once they get stock in again, I may recommend to friends... with caution.

Happy modding!

Ok... may be some hope afterall I guess.

I went ahead and ordered the microheli swashplate. I've gone through 3 spare OEM ones, and none of them will work with my brushless setup. Aggressive cyclic makes the heli bounce really bad.

I wasn't going to upgrade the hub and blade grips, as I don't see a problem with the stock ones, but for the $28 I may use the hub and grips off of it, and use the microheli swashplate.

Best of both worlds I guess.

Pretty sad, that I'm selling all my 500 stuff, just to fund a hopped up mcpx!

Ah well, the mcpx will get ALOT more stick time, so I guess I'm beginning to see the worth. Especially seeing what these things can do brushless. Its amazing.

Default Installed it today

Well i managed to install the metal swashplate, grips and main rotor hub today and test flew it. I couldnt notice any difference and if anything it was worse but I will do more flight tests to be sure. The blade grips dont seem to work very well. There is slop right and left ont eh feathering shaft and they can "rock on the feathering shaft indicating poor tolerances. I hope to try the stock plastic grips to compare and will post here once thats done.
