Default G30 V2 mods

Hello from France

I open this thread to talk about the modifications we can make to have a better machine than the original parts.

i start with the tail plastic gear ,i really hate this part because ,i bring this for 3 times ( last was today)
the 2 first times this was the upper area of the gear ,and today i 've broke 6 tooths during the flight .

i decided to try a metal gear, i 've found this part for HPI buggy on a webstore, this is not really the same part but it have the same module ,the same ID and same numbers of tooth.

https://www.gizmomotors.com/index.ph...vg-flux-detail

here, my modification with some pictures.

Regards
Thierry

Good find and probably a great fix.

Are there any mods that I should just plan on from the beginning?

This is the first I have heard of anyone breaking the spur gear on this heli or any of the gassers. Having the stop set up to hard on the FBL or gyro can cause gear damage and or breakage on any gear. I do not think there is much to change on a G30V2 for the most part. The ones I have sold have had zero issues unless it was crash related and well that does not count

Hi

i use microbeast V3 , Sab 104mm blades and align Ds655.
i found my gyro setup is good for middle 3D flying.

when i fly soft&sport i don't have problems but when i want a little more...the plastic gear make like the picture.
i don't read much threads about this heli . how many people fly with this machine and what type of flight ?

Other mod
i found the head is too soft for 2 reasons ,the 10mm shaft (i prefer 12mm) and the dampeners are too soft.
We can use KBDD dampers to make this better for 3D flying .

Regards
Thierry

Most people are running the lime KBDD dampers in the FBL Century heads and as you have shown you pull the spacer out when using the KBDD dampers. The stock dampers are ok but get play fast. There are some G30 V2 helis being flow very hard out there presently . I will post some video links shortly.

oups

ok, now i'm sure ,take a look at my pictures.(print screen video vs my g30 with 700mm blades)
Then I,if Century use 600 mm blades on this 700 heli and probably use 14 or 15t gear with 2400rpm at the head.
i think that's because there 's a problem ....(too soft head, too soft engine, too soft gear....?)
please Dennis find me movie(s) with 700 blades doing good 3D and with the heli make a landing .

Thierry

OK I had a few minutes to find the one that he blows the canopy off the heli on. I have no idea what your to soft thing is about. It is being beat around extreme and run at very high headspeed on the OMG vids? Yes they put 600 size blades and the N640 head on it to test the viability of the heli in that version. The tailgears ect are still taking a wild beating.
This video is with 690mm blades I hope that will do . Take care

Hi Dennis

The first movie is more hard 3D ( i prefer)
On the second , i think my G30 can do the same thing or" approximatly"(but not me^^) ,i think it's "border line and the pilot (garret oku)know that . Here the radio setup is down than the first movie

Then! Is the G30 is better for 3D flying with 600 mm blades?

maybe i 'll try that.

do you know if the 640 canopy take place without problems on the G30?

(edit) at what game play century with us? take a look at the boom, some elements are not here....if i can see that maybee the the mainframe is different....

sorry again, it's little bit difficult for me to find the good words, i hope i don't make mistakes.

Regards
Thierry

My understanding was that it has the G20 TT boom on it and the N640 head .As for blades it probably has 620-640mm blades .The mainframe ect is all G30 with the HWC 29cc motor . I cannot find the post but it was all listed for all to see.

The Radikal OMG video is one of a prototype they were working on (may be launched this year. I believe it is based on the G-30FBL head, with the G20 torque tube drive mode for use with 640mm blades.

The canopy blew off in the other one as it was not popped on fully when launched.

Here is another one.

Hello

i've made a new mod' on my G30 V2:
the original release system of the canopy is so bad.

then i've made my own Quick release system .

i like the tenax system for my speed boats ,and now i like it for my helis.

Thank you Thierry. Those look like they could be used on almost all of the Century helis and/or on any heli that has similar stand-off types of canopy attachment systems.

I will have to find out where one can get them on this side of the Atlantic.

hmmm don't remember hearing this complaint, what grease are you using on the dampeners/spindle, imo you should be using sparkplug boot grease

Hi Dan

Silicon grease ,but i'm sure that's not the problem.
this 700 head is just a" 600 head" with 600 dampeners but with 700 blades.
