Default 11/112 440KV 12S 1750 Headspeed 700E Qs

Gotta new-to-me 700E V2 w/DFC coming in and hoping to set it up similar to my old heli after being out of the hobby for years. Can I slot the stock mount to accommodate an 11T pinion or do I have to buy a Lynx or KDE adjustable mount?

I read about some possible concerns with the DFC head wobbling at lower headspeeds. What softer damper options are there if needed? I only fly in a scale manner with mild loops, rolls, etc. TIA!

The stock gearing and pinion will be fine for 1750 with a 440kV motor -- you will not need an 11T pinion or adjustable mount. The DFC can be hit or miss on lower head speeds. Some have had success with it, others get the wobbles. You definitely should NOT run soft dampers with the DFC head as it tends to cause rapid failure of the DFC arms.

You can buy a standard head for the 700 and run lower head speed if you want. In all reality, how low of a head speed do you want to go?

Thanks I'll try the 12T and stock dampers first. 1700-1800 is low enough. I fly mild big-sky and would rather stress the airframe less and get a little more duration if possible, and this is the headspeed I ran on my Raptor 90 and 600ESP 700 stretch. I just wanted to make sure my Castle was up in the 90% range.

I may be interested, and will be in Tampa Sat. But it'll be a quick in and out for work. You near Archie's by any chance?

I ended up going with the Lynx adjustable mount.

I have a friend with a DFC head 700 who putts it around on 1850ish headspeed and it is rock solid. Sometimes he gets all wild and flips to idle 2 for a 1950ish headspeed, still solid.

Thanks Jason. I just programmed my Castle for 1350, 1475, 1700 and removed the DFC head. Might be ready this weekend.
