First part of the new HT is done !!! Bought the house that will contain it I am still working out the details of the new theater .... 1-3 years in advance, how is that for a build thread So no new helis for the next 1-2 years while my house is being built and slowly being paid for.

Right side frame continued. Frame doubler, battery tray, and elevator actuator assembly.



Top: Battery tray. From left to right: Landing gear mounts, threaded spacers and hardware, and large unthreaded spacers with center posts,




2mm carbon fiber frame doubler--that means at the bottom of the frame you will have 4mm total frame thickness!



There are two different sized screws for mounting the battery tray, frame doubler, and landing gear mounts. Note that one has a shoulder. The shouldered bolts are used for the battery tray only. The longer bolt is used everywhere else in this assembly.



The landing gear fit into cutouts in the CF frame and CF frame doubler.



Inside view showing the battery tray installation. I found it best to do one screw/spacer at a time. The unthreaded center posted spacers are installed with the post side to the frame. Don't tighten the screws to the threaded post yet. You will need to line up the frame doubler. When you're ready to tighten, start from the center and work your way to the outside.



This shows the spacer order.



Elevator assembly parts.



Note the flats on the elevator control rod. There are flats on the other side, as well.



When you install the ball link to the elevator arm, tighten the screw, but not so tight so you can't turn the link.



The hinge for the lower bracket is bearing loaded and extremely smooth and free when this step is completed.



Note the flats on the elevator control arm. If you orient the control rod properly you will have four flats on this side as shown.



Do not tighten the M3 X 5 screws. Just allow them to sit in the center two flats. That is done so later on in the assembly, the control rod can be centered. So, no threadlocker, now..



Completed Elevator actuator assembly.




These are the bell cranks for the Aileron, Pitch, and Elevator portions of the swash.



For these balls, use blue threadlocker. Don't use red here because you may have to remove the balls and reposition them to tune your particular flybarless controller. I put the set screws in the elevator crank so I wouldn't lose them.

Taking a break from the Olympic opening ceremonies... Oh.... whoops! Here's the boom block and electronics trays.



The metal boom blocks are in Bag 6.



Left top, the gear box. Below the gear box on the left and right are hardware bags. To the right, the boom clap. The machining of these pieces is STELLAR.


All parts liberated from the their bags. At the bottom is the CF tray that joins the gear box to the boom clamp. The tray is an alternative location for an FBL sensor/unit.



Since the gear box is an actual assembly, please take the time to remove the screws, clean them and reinstall with blue threadlocker.




The assembled Boom Block. I know this is going to sound like I'm over exuberant, but please, when you get your kit, turn the gears. I have never felt a smoother assembly. It's simply stunning. Note the bottom of the boom clamp. Temporarily installed are the pinning screws. They will hold the boom in place in addition to the clamp screws. Don't tighten them until you're ready to set the boom in place.



I used two screws to locate the boom block in the frame. They were not tightened just yet. Next, I installed two screws in the center locations and worked crossways to install the boom block. I tightened them in a cross ways pattern, as well.



One side of the boom block is installed.



These are electronic trays for things like the FBL unit, sensor, receiver pack, and ESC.



You install the trays by pushing the ears on the trays into slots cut in the frame. Sometimes, there may be a lot of resistance, so it's okay to lightly file the frame slots until there is a tight fit. You really do not want this to be loose as loose means vibrations. I did not have the file the slots on my kit. They did fit tightly, though. Before you file, try to get a corner of one of the ears first. Try to make sure the trays are perpendicular to the frame--tt makes installation faster.

Next up, we'll button up the frame.
