Default Blades advice

Hi to ALL,

Guys, I am still in ordering progress of the blades and batteries while I am build the bird.
Could you please recommend the good (not the best and expensive but the real life one) choice from your experience.

What about this one:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...n_Blades_.html

And the same for the batteries. Everybody recommend 6s packs but as I understood the gaui recommend 2 x 3S. So, your comments are welcome.

Thanks a lot as always

Gaui doesn't recommend 2 x 3S per se - it was more a matter of "if you own a Trex 450, then upgarde to the 425 / 550 and use 2 of them in series" - to attract the 450 guys.

It really makes no difference 2 x 3S or 1 x 6S - exactly the same power for the ESC. Personally I use Gens Ace 2600 6S batteries - very happy with them.

I agree with Mike...6s 2650mah is the way to go...easier all around to deal with i=for charging and storage...

Those 3D blades are a nice deal. got a double set myself. One set needed some tape for balancing, but otherwise looking great. The HK picture is old. It actually reads "pro 3D" now.

For batteries:

I am currently testing a set of these 3s2800mAh 30C packs. They warm up just a little bit in flight so i expect the 30C rate to be good on this heli. 20C trex packs got really hot before. ( and 3,5 minutes flight time)
I hope to put in a few more flights the next few weeks to see how they hold up. I'm at around 15 cycles now, mainly test hovers. I want to see them get at least 10 more without performance loss before deciding to commit to them.

I cant find anything better at their price point yet. I would love a 6S, but dimensions prevent most to fit in the 425 canopy. I also looked at the 3s nano-techts. The 5C charge rate would be great for my new 400W (20A max) charger... but they are much more expensive, weight more or have less capacity.

Guys thanks a lot for the answers.
I really appreciate your support, opinions and comments.

By the way, what tools you are personally use to check the temperature of the heli details after the flight.
May be there is something special, mobile and comfortable device, the same from your experience. Or it is simple tool which I can buy everywhere.

Thanks

The finger is the best option, good joke, good picture
by the way Seebodener, is it your finger or somebody else? where can I buy such finger? it is looks a bit red at the end, what is going on, it is in progress of measuring?

I am laughing under the table, as we said in russian

thanks Mikej for the link, I like this one. It is pity, I just make an order in hobbyking for the blades, may be it is not so late and I can add the thermometer.

Thanks guys

I have this one. It works really well. has options like continuous reading, max and minimum temperature store and emissivity adjustment.

I like it. Reviews are better than the white pen type.

I used to check with my fingers, but it turned out to be super inaccurate. A 40*C Alu part can feel like you really burned your finger, and a 70*C plastic part (like a main gear) can barely feel warm. I dont trust my finger anymore.

I've started checking my ESC and motor with a laser temp tool, but wonder how warm is to warm? I'm seeing around 105 deg F on my ESC, and less than this on the motor and pack, but I'm running 550 blades. Any suggestions on temp ranges?

That is just above 40*C right? I would consider that luke warm. Most electric components are rated at least +85*C. Not sure what that is in Fahrenheit. Why don't you all just convert to metric already. Barbarian medieval Imperialists

40c = 105f

85c = 185f

At least you have a standard over there. Here in the USA we have metric, inches, fractions, etc, maybe even still cubits... It's a mess. I wish we would just pick one and be done with it.
