Default Is CP2 OK to use without a separate BEC?

I installed the CP2 on my Trex 500 ESP. I'm using the stock ESC and was wondering if I'm pushing the ESC's internal BEC too much.

I also set up the CP2 for the emergency recovery function which I understand doubles the gain when in a certain pitch or roll attitude.

I sure would hate to have a Rx brownout.

By the way, the CP2 works incredible so far. I can't wait to try it inverted.

Oh, one more question. With my DX6i, I'm setting gyro gain in the CP2 (30% seems to be fine). What, if any, significance are the gyro gain settings in my DX6i now? I have 0 set to 30% and 1 set to 72% but those numbers are meaningless now?

If your using the CPII 4th channel gyro option, the gyrop gain setting in your Tx are now non functional

OK, gyro gain in Tx is meaningless now. Thanks nightflyr.

So no Rx brownout issues anyone?

Hey Rich, I am not quite clear on this point. If I am using what use to be the gyro sense switch to switch CPII on and off, and using the 4th channel gyro option, the ATV values assigned to the switch positions have no bearing on the CPII other than determining two different values one for off and the other for on?

That is dependent on you power consumption from your flight system, if you have hi powered servos and a minimal BEC you can go into a BO

Correct, the gyro gain is now set value set from the programmer when using the 4th channel gyro option, so the switch no longer control the gain%, just ATV in order to switch the CPII on and off

....And that value does not affect the overall gain of the CPII's level of intervention. So to my next question how does one control gain on CPII from the TX, or there isn't such a facility.

Possible to control with a slider on your Tx

I think it would be quicker if you skim though the manual, I believe it has something on that, besides my typing is pretty slow
