DX8 with TM1000.

Only problem I'm having at the moment is reporting of flight pack voltage seems to be capped at 50 volts despite the fact up to 60 volts can be set in the DX8 telemetry alarm screen. The TM1000 specs seem to indicate up to 60 volts so I'm not quite sure whats going wrong.

I'm also getting accurate HS via a Hyperion phase sensor, motor winding temp, altitude and Rx voltage.

I'm currently setting up a TM1000 on my TDR - I'd love to see pics of your sensor setup!

I usually use a Jlog ...but is only for KK.

I'm interesting to know the ampere....for voltage of main packs and servos I use the T18 telemetry...

Talked to Horizon about the 50 volt cap & they said there is no way to change it.

A work around... but you could add a voltage divider to the input line to reduce the voltage down (maybe halve it) so the sensor registers.

Simple, just connect two large resistors (100K or more) between the sense lead and ground and connect the sensor lead to the point between the two resistors, that will give you 50% of the voltage. Pretty common thing to do when measuring large voltages. Some experimenting may be warranted as there might already be one inside the unit, it shouldn't draw an appreciable amount of current but you never know, test first .

Has anyone thought about or tried using the RPM output of the ESC (in addition to feeding the vbar governor) to feed a Spektrum telemetry module?

I know the Spektrum RPM sensor is built by Eagletree, which didn't work very well with the vbar govenor. I don't know if the Spektrum sensor is any different than the original Eagletree or not. It shouldn't matter, though, because we wouldn't be using that sensor.

It's just a question of are the signals compatible. The vbar has a 3.3V rail for driving the RPM sensor and it appears the Spektrum telemetry module does as well. The power connection is the only thing I'm not sure about. Since the sensor port on the vbar supplies a 3.3V rail, I'm assuming the output of the ESC doesn't supply a voltage, just the signal output. It would be easy enough to not connect the power line between the ESC and telemetry module, though.

Is anyone brave enough to try? I might unless it's most likely a no go. I've got all the stuff to try now since my kit arrived yesterday.

Yes. I asked the question on the Mikado Xxtreme forum and Mr Mel and Rainer advised against using a y-cable to split the signal. I am using a seperate Hyperion phase sensor off a motor wire like I have set up on my 400SE

Thanks. I have an extra Hyperion sensor so I'll just go that route. They just released an update to the STi app and it is much improved. I'll be using that since I have an 11X.

for the voltage measuring issue:
Why not just measure 1 packs voltage.. can be easily done trough the balancer cable.

That could be a good temporary fix.
