Default 600 SE help and some thoughts

Gday, I have crashed my 600 SE, im not a good flyer yet but im sure I got a few hours out of it before I smashed it in into the ground.

Anyway im fitting the new shells to it and my main gear just rubs in the two idler pulleys for the tail belt, I have used all 4 spacers, more than I had it in before and from what I can see in the correct place to lower the gear, but still a very light rub none the less.

What and why !!!!!! What am doing wrong.

On this and the first build I had to file the body in the same area as the main gear rubbed that. I really cant see why this would happen to such a quality kit.

Now after buying all the parts to repair it, I wish that I had bought Logos for all my helicopters, as I have 500 and 600 aligns. The logo parts were the same price if not cheaper than the Align parts. Yet the quality of the Logo and just the way it runs, flies and ease of repair makes it a no brainer.

So even though im very new to this, my advice is get a Logo, they are no dearer, better made, last longer, easier to fix and fly so much better.

Lyndon

Are you sure you have the idlers in the right spot and are you sure that the idler spacers are in correctly?

There is a tiny ridge on one side of each spacer that needs to go towards the pulley the other side is flat.

Some close up pictures would help.. You must have something assembled incorrectly,

About the main bearings, most often there shot if the head hit the ground. The crash creates a shock load that hammers the balls into the races resulting in small dents so they feel notchy.

i will check the pulley spacers. the bearings ate good. it hit skid first and the battery weight did most of the damage.

Verify that the lower main bearing is fully seated upward, that could throw the whole stack off. Other wise you can add/remove shims above or below the tail belt drive sheave.
