Fast storage charge??
Guys,
Is it bad to make a preset that will charge the batteries quickly to storage voltage of 3.86?? using the preset with the PL8 takes almost 1 hour to storage charge 6 packs, I want to reduce this time. any thoughts?

Not an issue. There is a high power storage preset in the library. Preset #9 in the preset library. Save it over the top of your existing preset and set the charge current up to 40 amps.
Personally, I never charge UP to storage voltage unless I've over discharged the packs, or am putting them away for long term storage, like a year.

from weekend to weekend you are not keeping under storage? wouldn't that puff the packs?

When I'm done flying, I just put them away. If they are charged at the end of the day, I'll discharge DOWN to storage. But I don't charge UP to storage. Typical cell voltage after a flight is 3.7v to 3.75v.
Leaving them fully charged in storage is bad for them.

ah ok i misread it the first time ... I also fly bats up to 3.7V/cell..it is not a problem for the battery to stay under this voltage for a week? maybe marginally better to UP storage charge them?

I always put them on storage charge even if i'm going to fly next weekend.
Always better!

It isn't too much of a difference in cell damage to leave them at 20% charger rather than 50-60%... But it does help and the decreased charge time for the next weekend is nice.

But if you put a pack in storage at 3.7v for less than several years and discover one or more cells is below 3.0v, its likely due to in internal short. Time to retire the pack.
