Blue antenna is for the TM1000 telemetry unit.

Eagle Tree RPM sensor sends its signal to both the SK720 and TM1000.

The little microswitch in the top left of the first picture is to workaround the SK720/Ice50 cold start bug some people have with certain models of SK720 units. It also serves as a reset switch to reset the SK720 without having to disconnect the battery. Its rated for 5 amps at 120VAC, more than enough for the 5A at 6V the Ice 50 puts out.

It's a "High voltage unbogable rocket on crack" it feels like its always in idle up.

1300mah NRG lipos x4
CC Ice 50
CC 10 amp BEC
Scorpion 2010 kv motor.

I have the gov'na (lol) on set RPM
3000 rpm
3100 rpm
3200 rpm

I get 5 min of sports flight and some sloppy piro flips. The telementy tells me when the voltage is low it gives me 1 minute heads up to land.

I was thinking about it, but there's a point of efficiency over power its kind of a balance you have to find. 3300rpm really makes the collective really smooth or it might be the MicroBeast. lol

Thanks Steve, I wish mine was that nice... But the 450 Sport frame doesn't allow the mounting of the ESC in the same location as seen in yours. Also my motor wires come out the top of the Align 450M that came with the super combo kit.

I definately didn't post mine to brag but someone wished to see it so I posted them up.

If you see anything dangerous in my wiring please let me know.

In a number of these posts, I see a lot of hard work, but some of the basic best practices have not been followed:

In general it is good practice to physically isolate your high current components (battery,ESC, Motor) and related wiring from the low current components (receiver, gyro, antennas) and wiring. The three ESC to motor wires in particular generate lots of electrical noise. Todays receivers are more immune to interference, but if you have glitches, consider shifting the high current stuff to the front more and remember this guideline when running wires.

Gyros on top the boom block are at risk of a flybar strike. Tail servos on the right side of the boom are at risk as well. Any wires going under skids are at risk when you rip your skids off in a crash.

Yes, I was being general. I've seen a lot of posts go by that I wanted to say something, but people are so proud of their babies that I've held my tongue. I remember how I felt about my first build. Then this guy named Finless saw my pictures and said EEEEEK.

If you have glitching, your ESC wires are closer to your receiver than I would allow. If it works flawlessly, I guess your electronics can handle it.

I must admit I'd not realised how short the bottom plate is on a sport compared to an SEv2! Looking at the basic layout I'd be inclined to put the ESC under the battery tray as that would allow for easy wiring to the motor, ease of disconnection of the motor wiring for safe setup, and keeps the power wiring well away from the rx/servo cabling. How's the balance? The ESC is the heaviest component that can easily be moved to affect CoG.

How stiff is the rx tray on a sport? On a 500 it's generally considered too flimsy to use as a gyro mount, especially on the overhang. Can the gyro be mounted under the boom block on a sport as can be done on the earlier models?

The balance is spot-on currently.

The battery tray is also a bit short. Over 1/3 of the battery hangs off the end of it. The ESC would also hang out past the end of the tray, where I don't believe it to be the safest mounting location incase of a nose first strike. The motor is right behind the batter tray. I've mounted the Gyro per the manual.

The Gyro tray, not RX tray, is plenty stiff. The 450 Sport owner's manual doesn't even mention the RX or suggest a place to put it. It does reccommend 2 locations for the ESC. One of which is where I placed it. The other location is roughly the same location but on the lower side of the frame just under the main gear.

Mounting the RX on the underside of the Gyro tray is the only place, short of mounting above the tailblock where it is in danger of a blade strike, and still keep the manual reccommended 3cm distance between the RX and the ESC that I could find.

I'm not real sure what align was thinking when they designed the frame layout.
